Short: AmiTCP/IP 2.2->2.3 binary update
Type: comm/net
Uploader: amitcp-group@hut.fi
Author: amitcp-group@hut.fi (The AmiTCP/IP Group)
Version: Release 2.3
This archive contains an update to the AmiTCP 2.2 binary. You need
to successfully install full AmiTCP/IP release 2.2 <AmiTCP-bin-22.lha>
before using this update. (Some of the documentation archives
<AmiTCP-xxx-20.lha is also highly recommended.)
GNU GPL still applies to this archive (However, NcFTP's normal
conditions apply to the new version); sources can be got by asking us,
althrough none of us is probably reachable before January 1994. See
the file COPYING for the full conditions.
The reason for this limited update release (wrt full release) was
simply lack of time. We thought that many of you might have some spare
time around the new year, so we decided to put this out as fast as
possible. A full release will be out next year :-)
Sorry no nice installation script this time :-(. Install this
archieve by replacing the old files on the AmiTCP: tree with the new
ones in this archive (you should probably move the old binaries to
some safe place first). New files are:
AmiTCP (version 2.3)
ChangeLog notes for the latest changes
README.UPDATE this file :-)
NcFTP_diffs.txt source diffs from NcFTP version 1.01 to 1.02
bin/NcFTP (version 1.02)
bin/stopnet sends "KILL" to AmiTCP's ARexx port
l/inet-handler (version 1.64)
Note that you probably must set the "s" bit for the bin/stopnet after
installation ("protect AmiTCP:bin/stopnet +s").
AmiTCP itself contains some bugfixes and a new ARexx command:
"KILL". See ChangeLog for details. Especially owners of the a2060 are
invited to experiment this new version!
bin/NcFTP has improved file transfer capabilities, downloads do not
keep the drive busy all the time any more.
l/inet-handler now closes its open bsdsocket.library base immediately when
a break (CTRL-C) is received.
