General info
--------------
WELCOME to the second in a series of AM/FM (Amiga Musicians Freeware
Magazine) Sample Disks! The AM/FM staff releases one of these sample disks
for each issue of the AM/FM magazine - they are all filled with first class
sampled sounds for the Amiga, for use in any music editor, like ProTracker,
NoiseTracker, MED, OctaMED, Oktalyzer, even Sonix, Music-X, and many many
other music programs.
Each of the sample disks is specialized - one specific synthesizer, drum
computer, sound card etc. is sampled for each of the AM/FM sample disks, or
one specific category of instrument/sounds will be presented on each disk.
The AM/FM Sample Disks are available from the same places you get the AM/FM
magazine, i.e. directly from the AM/FM staff or any company selling the
AM/FM magazine and sample disks with
original
AM/FM disk labels.
To ensure easy compatibility with the most popular music editors, the disks
are named ST-xx where xx is a 2-digit number starting from 50 and increasing
by one for each AM/FM Sample Disk.
Info about this disk
----------------------
The AM/FM Sample Disk #2, this disk, contains orchestral winds. There is a
total of 58 sounds. Various brass sounds, brass chords, many different
flutes, sax, clarinet, bassoon, and also some ethnic and untraditional winds
are represented.
The samples are stored on the disk with an IFF-header at the start of each
file. This may cause the samples to click annoyingly when played from old
music editors that don't handle IFF files, like Soundtracker or JamCracker.
To avoid this, use a program to cut off the IFF headers or better yet,
change to MED or ProTracker.
All samples are tuned - however, should minor detuning occur, use
ProTracker's or MED's "Fine Tune" functions or fine tune the samples in a
sample editor program like Audiomaster or Audition4.
