-- Welcome --
Textra 1.13 is the User-Friendly Text Editor for the Amiga. Easy-to-
use and full of features... background printing and ARexx script
operation, UNDO, multiple windows in different fonts, convienient
'mouse-drag-select' paradigm, and the list goes on.
Great emphasis (and effort) has gone into the user-interface to make
Textra easy to get used to, learn and become proficient with. There
is even a Tutorial ARexx script to help beginners get started (see
below for kwik-start instructions for it).
Textra is versatile enough to excel as a programmer's text editor
as well as crank out the occasional book report or letter. This is
because it includes some useful page/paragraph-formatting tools
among it's ARexx scripts.
Textra is very useful in the programmers arena. This version
includes scripts that allow Textra to act as an integrated text editor
for JForth Professional 3.x and HSPascal.
To get started with a hard disk, simply launch the "Install_Textra"
and it will prompt you through the installation of Textra and its
support files.
(FLOPPY USERS: If you are short on disk space, then at least
temporarily assign rexx: to the scripts drawer
of this package, which will allow you to...)
Launch the Tutorial ARexx script as follows...
1. Launch Textra by double-clicking on its icon. (If you
already have it up, proceed to step 3)
2. In the file-requester that appears, press CANCEL
3. Pull down the "Utilities, ARexx..." menu item.
4. In the ARexx requester that appears, enter:
Tutorial
into one of the string gadgets (if not already in one)
followed by RETURN. The tutorial will soon greet you.
Please refer to the 'docs' directory for full program documentation.
Please refer to the accompanying 'Docs/WhatsNew.doc' file for detailed,
categorized, new feature/bug fix information.
I hope to be receiving your registration soon. Updates provided
to all previously-registered Textra users upon request for $5.
Enjoy!
