  1. KingFisher v1.11 is mainly a bug-fix release.  Several features, however,
  2. are also present, mainly because I keep working on the program and those
  3. features made it into the program as a matter of course.
  4.  
  5. Before I describe what has changed, I'd like to apologize for releasing
  6. version 1.1 prematurely.  I failed to properly test the new features and as
  7. a result caused many people (and myself) quite a few headaches.  I will be
  8. less hasty in the future.  Please don't lose confidence in KingFisher quite
  9. yet.
  10.  
  11. BUG FIXES (with respect to version 1.1):
  12.  
  13.   -  'Add Fish' no longer fails to properly update the name index, which
  14.      required a 'Reindex' operation to fix.
  15.  
  16.   -  After a 'Delete Fish' operation, KingFisher will now properly flag
  17.      the name index as needing to be saved.
  18.  
  19.   -  Under 2.0 KingFisher will no longer be fooled into ridiculous and
  20.      unmanagable overscan display sizes in the presence of the A2024 or
  21.      oversized screens (public, Workbench, or otherwise.)  See ENHANCEMENTS
  22.      below.

  24.   -  KingFisher no longer hangs (crashes) when a backwards search using
  25.      the name index search started while the first fish on the first disk
  26.      is current.  Related cosmetic problems fixed, too.

  29. ENHANCEMENTS
  30.  
  31.   -  KingFisher now uses the 2.0 Display Database!  It's far from elegant
  32.      at this time, but should serve as a start.  KingFisher will refuse
  33.      to accept a display that is smaller than 640 x 200 in size; anything
  34.      larger will work.  An addition of the OVERSCAN keyword causes
  35.      KingFisher to select the display mode's TEXT OVERSCAN size.  The old
  36.      keywords (NoOverscan and Interlace) will be functional only when
  37.      running under the pre-2.0 operating system.
  38.           At this time, KingFisher does not honor the user's choice of
  39.      fonts.  While this does not present much of a problem for relatively
  40.      small screens, it probably is quite annoying for displays such as the
  41.      A2024.  I apologize in advance and promise that I will work towards a
  42.      solution when I can.
  43.  
  44.   -  KingFisher now uses 2.0 drawing pens, effectively giving the ASL file
  45.      requester and other message requesters the proper 3D-look.
  46.  
  47.   -  After a 'Reindex' operation KingFisher will no longer put up an
  48.      AutoRequester proclaiming "Operation successful" -- this caused
  49.      the KingFisher screen to be brought to the foreground, often an
  50.      unexpected and unwelcome interruption of other work in progress.
  51.  
  52.   -  KingFisher now has two selections for alerting you after a search:
  53.      successful search or failed search.
  54.  
  55.   -  KingFisher will now search for the file "KingFisher.config" in the
  56.      current directory first.  It will then proceed to check CONFIGS:
  57.      CONFIG: CNF: and finally S: -- only then will it put up a requester
  58.      asking for the proper disk to be inserted.
