  5.       Thy soul shall find itself alone
  6.       'Mid dark thoughts of the grey tomb-stone;
  7.       Not one, of all the crowd, to pry
  8.       Into thine hour of secrecy.
  9.  
  10.       Be silent in that solitude,
  11.         Which is not loneliness- for then
  12.       The spirits of the dead, who stood
  13.         In life before thee, are again
  14.       In death around thee, and their will
  15.       Shall overshadow thee; be still.
  16.  
  17.       The night, though clear, shall frown,
  18.       And the stars shall not look down
  19.       From their high thrones in the Heaven
  20.       With light like hope to mortals given,
  21.       But their red orbs, without beam,
  22.       To thy weariness shall seem
  23.       As a burning and a fever
  24.       Which would cling to thee for ever.

  26.       Now are thoughts thou shalt not banish,
  27.       Now are visions ne'er to vanish;
  28.       From thy spirit shall they pass
  29.       No more, like dew-drop from the grass.

  31.       The breeze, the breath of God, is still,
  32.       And the mist upon the hill
  33.       Shadowy, shadowy, yet unbroken,
  34.       Is a symbol and a token.
