  9. These files comprise the full 1stReader 2.00 release.  Note that
  10. you only need to download 1ST-200A.ZIP and 1ST-200B.ZIP to make
  11. up the "basic" 1stReader 2.00 release.

  14.        1ST-200A.ZIP  860k  Part 1 of the 1stReader 2.00 system.
  15.        1ST-200B.ZIP  799k  Manuals, database, RIP and other files
  16.                              related to the general release.
  17.        1ST-200C.ZIP  495k  1stEdit and 1stSpell utilities.
  18.        1ST-200D.ZIP  955k  Multimedia (MME) sound files.
  19.        1ST-200E.ZIP  244k  Programmer's docs and utilities.
  20.        1ST-200F.ZIP  377k  Special 1ST.EXE for 386 & higher systems

  23. 1ST-200C.ZIP, 1ST-200D.ZIP, 1ST-200E.ZIP and 1ST-200F.ZIP are
  24. optional and can be added either when you first install 1stReader
  25. or at any later time you wish.

  28. Updating from an earlier 1stReader release
  29. ──────────────────────────────────────────

  31. If you are a current user of 1stReader, you should ensure that your
  32. 1stReader system and files are backed-up before proceeding.  At the
  33. very least, ensure that your registration key (1ST.KEY) is copied
  34. to a diskette.

  36. The INSTALL process will present you with an "UPDATE" button.  You
  37. should select this option to update your 1stReader system to the
  38. 2.00 release.

  41. Suggested steps to installing or updating 1stReader
  42. ───────────────────────────────────────────────────
  43.  
  44. The first step to installing 1stReader is to make a temporary work
  45. subdirectory.  All the distribution files MUST be placed in this one
  46. work subdirectory.  After installation is complete, 1stReader will
  47. delete the original .ZIP files for you.
  48.  
  49. Type these commands from your DOS command prompt.  Press the [ENTER]
  50. after each command:

  52.                 C:
  53.                 CD \
  54.                 MD \TEMP
  55.                 CD \TEMP
  56.  
  57. Now copy the files 1ST-200A.ZIP and 1ST-200B.ZIP into C:\TEMP using
  58. the DOS command:
  59.  
  60.                 COPY 1ST-200*.ZIP C:\TEMP
  61.  
  62. Then unpack (or 'unzip') the files into the C:\TEMP subdirectory
  63. using the DOS command:

  65.                 PKUNZIP -O *.ZIP
  66.  
  67. When all of then files have been unpacked type:

  69.                 INSTALL
