††A jacuzzi is a whirlpool bath, often used for health and relaxation purposes. Jets of water are pumped into the bath, causing the water to move gently with a circular motion. Jacuzzi was the name of the inventor and manufacturer, Candido Jacuzzi, an Italian American. Jacuzzi developed his special bath for his 15 month-old son who suffered from the crippling disease rheumatoid arthritis. The jacuzzi was first marketed as a health and beauty product in the mid-1950s.
