††††Chopsticks first appeared in China around 2000 BC and were made of wood or ivory. The Chinese still eat with chopsticks. They hold both sticks in one hand, and pinch the tips together to pick up food.
Chopsticks were also in existence for hundreds of years before cutlery appeared in Europe.
