Tycho Brahe was one of the great astronomers. He studied law at the universities of Copenhagen and Leipzig from 1559 to 1565, but a total eclipse of the sun in 1560 made him more interested in astronomy. He made astronomical tables more accurate and helped the Copernican Theory of the Solar System become accepted. He also made many astronomical discoveries and was an inventor, making the best astronomical instruments of the time.
