J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto Number 1 in MIDI Synth format.
The "raw" MIDI files for all of the Brandenburg Concertos were uploaded
to the Internet news group alt.binaries.sounds.music last fall. They
were translated to MIDI Synth format by my program MIDI Surgeon, which will
be published in the Jan/Feb 1994 issue of GS+ magazine. To subscribe
(magazine w/disk: 3 issues - $20; 6 issues - $36) or to purchase back issues
($9.50; $6.50 for disk only), write to

Information about the sequence file...
Brand1.seq
MIDI Synth Sequence File (version 1.0) Created by MIDISurgeon
Uses instrument file Synth.Bnk
MIDI sequence contains 376170 bytes (47021 events)
452 measures; estimated playing time is 22:35
NOTE: This file is too big to be played by Apple's synthLAB program, but
should work fine with other MIDI Synth players (synthfile, for example).

BRANDENBURG CONCERTO NUMBER 1
BRAND1.MID Bytes: 20575, Count: 313, 01-Jun-91
Title : "Brandenburg Concerto No.1" (Bach); Cakewalk; MFF
Bach's Brandenburg numero uno. Written in Cakewalk but save in standard
midi (mid) format. uploaded by Frank Guilfoyle.
Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F Major
by
Johann Sebastian Bach
Sequenced by Frank Guilfoyle
This piece was sequenced for a Casio MT 640 which has only 4 voices
polyphony with ten tones possible at a time. Unfortunately johann
Wrote it for 12 instruments. In most places I have Skipped the violino
picolo part. If your memory and synth can handle it, the missing parts
can be copied from violino 1 and raised one octave. In the places
where I have sequenced violino picolo parts, I have skipped the violino
II part, but it is generally identical to oboe II and can be copied
from there.
The other instrument I have skipped is Continuo e violone grosso,
which is Identicle to the violoncello and fagotto parts.
I have previously uploaded Brandenburgs 3 and 5, and will eventually
get around to the other three. Hope you enjoy them.
