  1. When I started monitoring the Internet news group alt.binaries.sounds.music
  2. last fall, a huge archive of songs was posted under the title "Bert's Greatest
  3. Hits, Volume 1." I have previously uploaded several files from that archive
  4. (Bach's 3rd Brandenburg Concerto and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata), and here
  5. are some more. Synthfile describes the sequence files this way...

  76. I was asked a while back to put together a collection of the best MIDI
  77. tunes from my collection and to post it to alt.binaries.sounds.music and
  78. a couple of other places.  Well, to those of you who have been waiting,
  79. sorry about the delay in getting everything packaged up and ready to go.
  80. It took longer than I thought it would to write each song up and export
  81. MIDI files from the original Vision sequences.  But now I'm all set to
  82. go, and you should see all of the files coming shortly.

  84. All of these songs are freely distributable, but they're 'guiltware'.
  85. That is, you can use and distribute them as you see fit, but it *did*
  86. take an enormous amount of time to prepare them and sift through
  87. hundreds of MIDI sequences on the net to find these 'gems', so I wouldn't
  88. mind seeing a few bucks appear in my mailbox from time to time  (I can be
  89. reached at Tempered MicroDesigns / P.O. Box 170638 / San Francisco, CA 94117).
