  1. TextColors is a short program written in assembly language (ORCA/M) that
  2. allows you to change the Apple IIGS screen colors. The control panel
  3. interface for doing this has always seemed awkward to me--it doesn't
  4. provide enough text on the screen to get a good feel for what the colors
  5. really look like, and it takes a lot of keystrokes to get into and out of
  6. that part of the control panel.

  8. TextColors displays a test line for each of the 16 foreground colors. You
  9. choose the foreground color and change the background and border colors
  10. with the up- and down-arrow keys. (The help screen describes how to do
  11. this.) The currently-chosen colors are shown at the top and bottom of the
  12. main screen and on the help screen.

  14. If you run TextColors from a shell, you can turn it into an EXE file simply
  15. by changing its filetype ("FILETYPE TEXTCOLORS EXE" in APW and ORCA).

  17. TextColors is Freeware, but I hope you will take the time to send a brief
  18. message describing your reaction to the program (useless? clever? confusing
  19. interface? control panel is better?) or how it might be improved.
