- TextColors is a short program written in assembly language (ORCA/M) that
- allows you to change the Apple IIGS screen colors. The control panel
- interface for doing this has always seemed awkward to me--it doesn't
- provide enough text on the screen to get a good feel for what the colors
- really look like, and it takes a lot of keystrokes to get into and out of
- that part of the control panel.
-
- TextColors displays a test line for each of the 16 foreground colors. You
- choose the foreground color and change the background and border colors
- with the up- and down-arrow keys. (The help screen describes how to do
- this.) The currently-chosen colors are shown at the top and bottom of the
- main screen and on the help screen.
-
- If you run TextColors from a shell, you can turn it into an EXE file simply
- by changing its filetype ("FILETYPE TEXTCOLORS EXE" in APW and ORCA).
-
- TextColors is Freeware, but I hope you will take the time to send a brief
- message describing your reaction to the program (useless? clever? confusing
- interface? control panel is better?) or how it might be improved.
