  13. WHATS NEW IN THIS RELEASE
  14. -------------------------
  15. NOTE TO USERS OF QCP 1.0:  If you are currently using QCP version 1.0,
  16. you WILL need to edit your QEdit macro key definition and your copy of
  17. QCP.DAT, before switching to QCP 2.0.  To accomodate the many new
  18. features in QCP 2.0, some of the I/O redirection in particular is being
  19. handled a bit differently.  Please read QCP.DOC first.

  22. NOTE TO USERS OF QCP 2.0:  Note that some of the command-line switch
  23. handling has changed in 2.08.  In particular, some of the defaults are
  24. different, and a switch followed by a space means "ON" not "TOGGLE" in
  25. version 2.08.  Please at least skim QCP.DOC for differences.

  28. New features of QCP 2.08 include:
  29.  
  30. QCP now supports the new features of QEdit 2.08, taking full advantage
  31. of them to enhance its own functionality.
  32.  
  33. QCP will now recognize a "column number" in a compiler error message and
  34. position the cursor to both the correct row and column in the source
  35. file.
  36.  
  37. QCP now supports generic "next error" and "previous error" macro keys,
  38. in addition to the numeric error keys used before.
  39.  
  40. QCP now supports a "batch mode" of operation, taking advantage of
  41. autoexecute macros in QEdit 2.08.  You can have QCP run your compiler
  42. from a batch file, and then invoke QEdit only if an error occurs.

  44. QCP now has an option to pause and ask for a key to be pressed when an
  45. error occurs.

  47. QCP now allows you to install QEdit macro templates that are up to two
  48. lines long.
