  14.            Following is a list of products available from S.H. Moody &
  15.       Associates.  All programs require an IBM PC, AT or close compatible
  16.       with at least 512K memory installed.  Programs are only available on
  17.       5.25 inch 360K floppy diskettes and contain complete documentation on
  18.       the disk.  I do not charge for shipping within the U.S.  For delivery
  19.       outside the U.S., add $5.00.

  22.       LJ2DESK   Converts LaserJet downloadable portrait soft fonts to
  23.                 DeskJet format.  Converts all fonts up to the hardware limit
  24.                 of the DeskJet (a shade less than 24 points).  DeskJet fonts
  25.                 produced by LJ2DESK support bolding without downloading a
  26.                 separate bold font, half-height printing, draft mode
  27.                 printing, underlining, double underlining and half and
  28.                 double pitch.  The fonts also contain the DeskJet memory
  29.                 requirement information which is printed by DJWIDTH.  All
  30.                 DeskJet characters are exact dot matches of their LaserJet
  31.                 counterpart.  Fixed width fonts space the same as in the
  32.                 LaserJet; proportional font spacing normally differs
  33.                 slightly from its LaserJet counterpart due to hardware
  34.                 differences between the two printers.

  36.       DJWIDTH   Reads any DeskJet soft font and prints a width table for
  37.                 each character in the font.  This information is needed in
  38.                 order to obtain proper spacing by your word processor. 
  39.                 Without correct width information your word processor cannot
  40.                 properly center or justify text.  The table produced by
  41.                 DJWIDTH also shows the font name, typeface, style, height
  42.                 (points), pitch, symbol set, DeskJet memory required, and
  43.                 the complete font descriptor escape sequence to use to
  44.                 invoke the font.

  46.       DESKVIEW  (Requires EGA)  Displays magnified DeskJet soft font
  47.                 characters on-screen, maintaining the correct height and
  48.                 width proportions of the printed character.  Also displays
  49.                 font information (name, typeface, spacing, symbol set,
  50.                 height in points, pitch, baseline distance, x-height etc.)
  51.                 and character data (character number, size, width, left and
  52.                 right padding).  This program lets you look "inside" your
  53.                 DeskJet fonts to understand why the printed output looks the
  54.                 way it does.

  56.       FONTFIX   This program reads LaserJet soft fonts, cleans out super-
  57.                 fluous characters within the font and non-font escape
  58.                 commands like those which set a font ID number or make a
  59.                 font permanent/temporary or primary/secondary.  Also allows
  60.                 the user to reset the baseline or x-height of a font.  This
  61.                 program is especially useful for those who plan to convert
  62.

  65.                 LaserJet fonts to DeskJet format since the program also
  66.                 eliminates non-dot rows and columns from each character and
  67.                 resets the cell width and height of the font (the "cell" is
  68.                 a rectangle within which all characters in a font will fit) 
  69.                 This may allow a font which otherwise would be too big for
  70.                 the DeskJet to be processed by LJ2DESK.  Finally, many
  71.                 public domain LaserJet fonts are technically flawed
  72.                 internally.  Although the LaserJet printer is very tolerant
  73.                 of these technical errors, The DeskJet is not always as
  74.                 tolerant, and the LJ2DESK program may reject these flawed
  75.                 fonts.  FONTFIX normally can fix these flaws such that the
  76.                 font can be converted to DeskJet format.

  78.       LJROTATE  This program reads a LaserJet Portrait soft font file and
  79.                 creates a LaserJet Landscape file or vice-versa.  If you
  80.                 DeskJet owners have a favorite LaserJet font only in
  81.                 Landscape, this program will create its Portrait counterpart
  82.                 which you can then process using LJ2DESK and thus have
  83.                 available for your DeskJet.

  85.       LJWIDTH   This program is similar to DJWIDTH above (except that the
  86.                 LaserJet memory requirement is not included in the font
  87.                 header) but prints width tables for LaserJet fonts.
