  1.                Introduction to the PC-Write Font Selector

  3. To print the on-disk documentation for this program, enter these commands
  4. at the DOS prompt:

  6.      COPY FONTMAN1.DOC PRN    (Press Ctl C at any time to cancel printing.)
  7.      COPY FONTMAN2.DOC PRN
  8.      COPY FONTID.DOC   PRN
  9.  
  10. The documentation tells you how to install and run these programs, and gives 
  11. some background on HP LaserJet soft fonts format as it relates to PC-Write. 
  12. The font selector program is named FONT.  You can run it by just typing FONT 
  13. at the DOS command prompt.  There are some command line options you may find 
  14. useful, given in the documentation.  A second program, ID, converts the PR.DEF 
  15. file to "call by ID" format, which works better for many non-HP font files.

  17. Besides this program (and PC-Write), you will need some soft font files.  
  18. There is a list of soft font suppliers in the documentation.  In mid-September 
  19. 1988 Quicksoft will have started selling fonts in its new catalog.

  21. Because this is an early version of the font selector program, we are 
  22. especially interested in any problems or suggestions you may have.
