  1. GOVERN - U.S. (Basic Version)                 Revision date: February 1989

  3. GOVERN - U.S. is a software package for communicating with representatives
  4. of the U.S. Federal Government.  The purpose is to encourage you to
  5. communicate with your representatives by making it easy and convenient,
  6. thus enhancing your interests in the process of representative government. 
  7. The program is published by the Foundation for Infinite Survival, Inc. as
  8. shareware, and this Basic Version is a truncation of the Expanded Version.
  9. The program contains 7 files, which are: READ.ME, MANUAL, GOVERN.EXE,
  10. US.DB, LETTER.FIL, ENVELOPE.1, and SEARCH.FIL.  First, to observe an
  11. example of how the program works, type the command GOVERN and a menu will
  12. be displayed.   Then, type a full command: GOVERN LETTER.FIL SEARCH.FIL. 
  13. For a copy of the manual on the program, type PRINT MANUAL.  The MANUAL
  14. explains the various files and how the program works, and it contains a
  15. reference directory of the governmental representatives.

  17. This program is copyrighted.  As shareware, you are authorized to make
  18. copies and distribute them freely as specified in the manual.  This is the
  19. "Basic" Version of GOVERN - U.S.  For a registered copy of the Expanded
  20. Version and the most current database of the representatives, contribute
  21. $28 to:  FIS (GOVERN - U.S.), P.O.Box 4000-C, Berkeley, California 94704.
