  7.      1.  The Job Estimater is a handy tool that anyone can use
  8. who has the need to perform job estimating.  Its has an
  9. unlimited application to home and business alike.  It can be
  10. used to make constuction bids and catering estimates to home owners
  11. using it to determine what it may cost to do remodeling or landscaping.
  12. Try it and you'll see how useful a program it can be.
  13.  
  14.      2.  If you find this job estimater useful, I would
  15. appreciate a donation of $10.00.  I have developed several other
  16. applications such as these and would send you a listing upon
  17. receipt of your donation.  Just fill out the blank at the end of
  18. this document and you will be registered for future notification
  19. of new applications.

  21.      3.  I would like to just mention some features of this program.
  22.          
  23.          - this is a stand alone application
  24.       
  25.          - you may print your estimate to a text file and import
  26.            it into your word processor so that you can prepare a letter
  27.            and not have to reinput the estimate and fuss with
  28.            the calculations
  29.  
  30.          - you have the capability to print out an estimate on
  31.            the printer 
  32.  
  33.          - it has an on-line help screen to give you some information
  34.            about the use of the keys
  35.  
  36.          - you can change the tax file to reflect the current
  37.            tax rate for your area
  38.  
  39.            -- take it with you anywhere, change the tax rate and
  40.               you are ready to estimate
  41.            -- if by mistake the file is damaged or you copy it
  42.               to another disk the program will recreate another one
  43.            -- the default when you use the estimater the first time
  44.               is 4.5%.  Change it in the program and the next time
  45.               you want to use it, it will reflect the new tax rate
  46.               
  47.      
  48.          - you may change the labor and material information as
  49.            much as you like until the numbers indicate 'exactly'
  50.            what you want
  51.  
  52.            -- the nice feature about this is you can 'gameplan'
  53.               and worse case your estimate giving you the ability to 
  54.               create a strategy and determine the most cost effective
  55.               method

  70.           - the following is what output you can expect from
  71.             the job estimater - I imported this from a text file
  72.             without any key strokes - this is also how the
  73.             printed output will appear

  75.             -- if you want to rearrange the text file after you
  76.                have imported into your word processing document you
  77.                may do so

  106.         4.      The install program will create a subdirectory off your root
  107. directory called c:\estimate.  If you do not want to have this as your 
  108. directory then copy the files where you like.  The install
  109. program will, after creating the estimate directory, copy the
  110. estimate execution file to your hard drive.  It will work on a
  111. floppy just as it would on a hard drive only it will obviously
  112. be slower.

  114.         5.   Printout.bat is a file that will automatically print out
  115. this file for you on your printer.
  116.  
  117.         6.   The info.doc is the one you are now reading.
