  1. The READ command lets you read messages on the current subboard. You must 
  2. enter the number of the first message you want to read. Notice that messages 
  3. are always numbered sequentially; ie. if there are active 56 messages on a 
  4. particular subboard, the first message is always number 1 and the last is 
  5. number 56, regardless of the fact that message deletions may have taken 
  6. place in the past.
  7.      After reading a message, you have several options. You may type 'N' (or 
  8. simply press RETURN) to read the next message. You can re-read the message 
  9. by pressing 'A'. You may reply to the message, either publically or 
  10. privately; if the reply is public, it is appended to the current subboard, 
  11. otherise the Mail facility is invoked to send the reply directly to the user 
  12. who wrote the original message.
  13.      The message forwarding option can be invoked by pressing 'F'. This 
  14. facility allows you to send a copy of the message you've just read to 
  15. another place on the BBS; the destination can be a user's mailbox or a 
  16. public message subboard. The forward command prompts you for the required 
  17. information. Please do not abuse the forwarding facility by sending many 
  18. copies of the same message.
