  16. INTRODUCTION
  17.    
  18.         Reality Software is a small company whose husband and wife 
  19. team is devoted to the publication of two product lines.
  20.  
  21.        We publish quality E-Books for DOS and Windows in 
  22. ancient/medieval history and the history of religion. These books 
  23. represent original, scholarly research and are designed for 
  24. thinking adults. They are an attempt at original synthesis from the 
  25. literature and some of the writing is at journal level. They are 
  26. definitely not school-oriented software nor New Age fluff. 
  27.        
  28.       Reality Software also publishes a large series of Windows 
  29. image collections/media albums and screen savers that feature a) 
  30. historical transportation photography and b) original 
  31. computer art whose themes are mythic and visionary. Each image
  32. is royalty free in the registered versions of this software.

  34.        All Windows E-Books come with Replica, an application 
  35. independent viewing system that bypasses the need for a word 
  36. processor. Replica is easily installed into WIN 3.1 or WFW 3.11 
  37. and can then be used to view and print the electronic books. Full 
  38. instructions are included and the software is very user friendly.

  42. E-Books are available with a superb document viewing interface 
  43. for DOS (BigText) that in the latest version (1.3) incorporates 
  44. graphics to produce illustrated electronic books. We offer a

  46. interesting, return your disk(s) for a full-no questions-asked, 
  47. refund. Assume all disks are high density.

  49.         Nine publications in our series of Windows media
  50. albums and screen savers featuring archival transportation 
  51. photography have been released. Three volumes feature images scanned 
  52. from our private collection of 19th century steam locomotives. The 
  53. other publications feature images of electric locomotives, tall 
  54. ships, classic sail boats, early bicycles and early trolleys; each 
  55. of which is also scanned from our personal collection of rare 
  56. photographs. The photos are quite rare and in most cases are single 
  57. prints made by early photographers and collectors. With a handful 
  58. of exceptions, none have ever been published before in any medium 
  59. and then only many decades ago at very low resolution. Each photo has 
  60. been meticulously restored to repair negative and print damages 
  61. while maintaining the historical integrity of the image. Each graphics 
  62. files in v1.0 of these publications is 8 bit, 256 grey scale,
  63. TIFF or PCX. Each graphics file in v1.2 of these publications is 24 
  64. bit and royalty free to registered users. Whatever historical
  65. data we can reliably ascertain about each photo is included as
  66. a text file.

  68.         Four volumes in our Windows screen saver series of original 
  69. visionary art have been released. 1) Fifteen original computer 
  70. paintings explore the theme of Mythic Bears. 2) Fifteen original 
  71. computer paintings explore the Epiphanies of the Neolithic 
  72. Goddess.  3) Fifteen original computer paintings developed with 
  73. fractals express images of Cosmic Creation. 4) Fifteen original 
  74. computer paintings explore relationships with Sacred Animals.       
  75. The shareware versions of each screen saver contain three
  76. images, the registered versions fifteen. There is no duplication 
  77. among the collections and each graphics file in version 1.0 of
  78. these publications is 8 bit, 256 color and PCX.  Each graphics
  79. file in v1.2 of these publications is 24 bit, 16 million color,
  80. and royalty free to registered users. At a cost of $1 or less per 
  81. image, such a license is a bargain. Stock photography agencies 
  82. typically charge $100 or more per image for commercial licenses.

  84.         Interactive Week for Feb.13, 1995 (Vol.2(3): 29) has a report 
  85. about a relatively unknown venture of Bill Gates. Having dominated the 
  86. OS and software worlds through MicroSoft, Of immediate concern to the 
  87. graphics design and multimedia industries, is a major expansion of his 
  88. little known company called Now Corbis. Now Corbis holds an enormous 
  89. library of stock photos with plans to triple its inventory in the near 
  90. future. Corbis intends to sell one time licenses for each image and 
  91. employs five intellectual property lawyers to write contracts with 
  92. clients. I quote Mark Daniel, manager of sales. "We have not been 
  93. selling an image for less than $100, and we also have sold an image 
  94. up to $5,000. Normally, they [one-time reproduction licenses] 
  95. are $200 to $400 an image."

  97.        Realize, that if you are a graphics designer or multimedia 
  98. developer, this is the playing field now and for the foreseeable 
  99. future. While Reality Software can only develop image collections 
  100. built around specialized themes, if you can use our products, we 
  101. offer the most inexpensive license in the industry: $1 per image for 
  102. a lifetime royalty free license. And you will not have to talk to a 
  103. lawyer. We wish to share our knowledge and creativity with you at 
  104. the lowest cost possible.

  108. often produce a nearly invisible repair of the problems caused by 
  109. such damages as water or ink stains, and rips or tears in prints or

  112. as computer media, we will scan it for you before beginning
