  49.    Introduction

  52.      The program Fund Investor automates the access to Fidelity and
  53. Vanguard families of mutual funds using automated service telephones.
  54. The program permits a speedy, access to these funds: obtaining individual
  55. quotations and balances including the last purchase/sale/exchange of
  56. shares in your account. An additional feature is the automated transfer
  57. of funds from your bank to some groups of funds, or between funds.
  58. The program also calculates the actual return on investment in these funds,
  59. taking into account dividends and the change in share price.

  61.      Any change in prices of shares, bonds, or mutual fund is automatically
  62. stored. A separate section of the program permits compilation of all
  63. investments in Treasury and Corporate bonds. The actual yield of these
  64. bonds is calculated and payment dates listed. If an interest payment is
  65. due within 30 days, then this entry is highlighted for your convenience.
  66. The program also calculates the actual yield to maturity and duration of
  67. bonds.
  68.      Another section is devoted to direct investments in the stock market.
  69. The program permits direct downloading of stock quotations from CompuServe
  70. Service and automatically updates the portfolio. The quotes are also stored
  71. in a historical data file and can be plotted. There is also a section for
  72. recording your investments in bank accounts, such as Certificates of
  73. Deposit, or Money Market accounts.

  75.      The program maintains a permanent record of all transactions, calculates
  76. the actual yield on investment for individual accounts as well as provides
  77. the "purchase date and price" and "selling date and price" for all "closed
  78. positions", according to IRS rule FIFO (ie. "First in, first out").

  84.            To install the program, you should start the Windows program and
  85. select the "File Manager". Using the File Manager, execute "INSTALL.EXE"
  86. program and respond to all queeries as they appear on the screen.

  88. This will initiate the installation program. During the installation, you
  89. will be given the opportunity to select the disk and the sub directory
  90. where you wish the program to reside. After the succesful installation,
  91. the configuration routine will be started, where various paramaters must be
  92. defined. The program provides a context sensitive help to assist you in
  93. the process.

  100. The evaluation ("shareware") version of the Fund Investor is provided
  101. for evaluation only, on an "as is" basis. The included modules allow
  102. evaluation of Fund Investor files, and provide all the capabilities
  103. necessary for the user to verify correct functioning of those for
  104. his/her purposes.  Users are advised to do so.

  106. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE PROGRAMMER
  107. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES RELATING TO THIS SOFTWARE, WHETHER EXPRESSED 
  108. OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
  109. MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  NEITHER THE
  110. PROGRAMMER NOR ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN THE CREATION,
  111. PRODUCTION, OR DELIVERY OF THIS SOFTWARE SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY

  119. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Massachusetts
  120. and shall inure to the benefit of the programmer and any successors,
  121. administrators, heirs and assigns.  Any action or proceeding brought by
  122. either party against the other arising out of or related to this agreement
  123. shall be brought only in a STATE or FEDERAL COURT of competent jurisdiction
  124. located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.  The parties hereby consent to
  125. in personam jurisdiction of said courts.

  130. LICENSE TERMS APPLICABLE TO ALL USE OR DISTRIBUTION

  132. You may not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile,
  133. disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed
  134. program except as provided in this agreement.

  136. U.S. Government Restricted Rights:  Use, duplication, or disclosure
  137. by the U.S. Government of the computer software and documentation in
  138. this package shall be subject to restrictions as set forth in
  139. subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer
  140. Software clause at 252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).

  143. LIMITED DISTRIBUTION LICENSE

  145. Permission is granted to individuals charging no fees, and to BBSes,
  146. User Groups, Mail-Order Disk Vendors, CD-ROM publishers, and BBS
  147. File-Distribution Networks regardless of fees, to distribute the
  148. Fund Investor, provided they convey a complete and unaltered copy of
  149. the shareware version of this product, and provided they claim no
  150. ownership of these products.
