  19.     SILICONE BREAST IMPLANTS, although very nice in beautifying the 
  20.   world, present some very serious dangers to the recipients. The 
  21.   implants are under more stringent controls, however, still available. 
  22.   Many women have received an alternative, saline implants, but the 
  23.   saline is held within a silicon container. The dangers from the 
  24.   silicone are still possible with the saline implants.

  26.     If you have implants, you should follow some of these guidelines:

  28.     You should be periodically checked by a physician familiar with 
  29.   implants and their dangers.

  31.     Do not breast feed your children -- it has not been determined if 
  32.   the silicone "bleeds" into the breast milk -- this could affect your
  33.   newborn's future health.

  35.     You should *definitely* have screening mammography at intervals 
  36.   recommended for your age group. There are special techniques required 
  37.   for women, who have silicone breast implants. Be sure to advise any 
  38.   technician that you have had implants, prior to radiological examinations.
