  2. IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS PRERELEASE             (April 16, 1998)

  5. ! If you're upgrading from YAM 1.3.x to YAM 2.0, make a backup
  6. ! of the whole YAM directory before you start the installation.
  7.  
  8. This pre-release fixes some bugs of the last version and contains
  9. a couple of new features.
  10.  
  11. Fixed bugs:

  13. - Search window crashed due to trashed memory after first search
  14. - Sending mail sometimes produced a 'Read error on mailfile'
  15. - 'Send mail on startup' didn't work when 'Get mail on startup' was
  16.   enabled
  17. - Subjects starting with 'Re[x]:' weren't sorted correctly
  18. - Width of last column in folder/message lists couldn't be set
  19. - YAM didn't remove mail from server when there were no messages
  20.   to download
  21. - Filter 'CustomField' wasn't read from configuration file
  22. - Empty From field in outgoing MDNs
  23. - Folder popup in filter config didn't show new user-defined folders
  24. - Filename of message wasn't passed as an argument to filter action
  25.   'Execute'
  26. - Transfer window wasn't activated in import/export mode

  32. - Version check now compares compilation dates instead of version

  36. - Stack size for external commands is now set to 12 KB
  37. - Phrases and quote string can contain one ore more spaces at the
  38.   beginning
  39. - Improved index handling (smaller risk of working with outdated index
  40.   files, e.g. after a crash)
  41. - German catalog update
  42. - Increased internal stack size to 20K
  43. - Increased maximum number of folders, filters and MIME viewers to
  44.   100 each

  79. This version of YAM 2.0 is still in beta stage. XPK support
  80. and the ARexx interface aren't fully implemented yet, and there
  81. are probably some other functions that don't work as expected.

  83. The final version of YAM 2.0 will be different
  84. from this prerelease in these points:

  86. - Missing features implemented
  87. - Known bugs fixed
  88. - Localized for many other languages
  89. - More icon sets and example scripts included
  90.  
  91. The release date is not known yet. Go to the YAM
  92. website and register for updates if you want to
  93. be notified when the final version is ready.
