AMIGA RESIDENT EVIL - TEST VERSION 1.0 - 17/1/98
By Magic Rabbit (C)1998
You never thought it was possible! But it is! (To some extent).
Here is the Document for Amiga Resident Evil, Test Version 1.0
Installation:
Decompress the lha file to where you want it (say HD0) and then
go into the drawer called "Resident Evil" and click on the
Resident Evil Icon! Easy!
DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING OR DELETE ANY FILES IN THIS DRAWER OTHERWISE
ITS POSSIBLE YOU WON'T GET AMIGA RESIDENT EVIL WORKING AGAIN!
Information:
FOR GAMEPLAY TROUBLE SHOOTING< LOOK AT THE AREA CALLED TROUBLE SHOOTING
This version of Amiga Resident Evil is noway anything as complete
as the commercial release. What you have here is around 5-10 mins
of gameplay. It might keep you a little bit longer to complete, but
its quite easy to finish of. I'm not going to tell you the soloution,
but if you have Played the Playstation/Saturn/PC version you will
know whats going on quite well.
In this Version, Its almost exactly like you would find it on the
commercial versions. You get all those cut-scenes, with some
from the UNCUT version (Like if you watched it on The Directors Cut)
and its not to bad. There is only a few of things missing,
such as a multiple path and also some parts where you would get information
( ie - Click On the Table and on Console versions it would show some
text explaining what it is - The next version will have this problem
fixed). Also you can't die or kill anything. I was planning this, but
I've decided to try and incorperate this into the second release.
The Main difference of course is that you you don't actually move the
character about on-screen. You use the mouse to click on doors and
other stuff. In a way, this makes this version quicker. You do see
your character on screen though.
What Do I need to run this Test Release?
A1200/A4000
Possibly will run inside 2MB memory. 4MB or 6MB Reccomended though!
5.5MB Hard Drive Space
Mouse
Trouble Shooting
Question:
Sometimes, like on the white screen and when opening doors, nothing
happens. Whats the Problem?
Answer:
There is nothing wrong here. All you need to do is press the left
mouse button. This occurs in a few places in the test version of
the game.
Question:
There is a door is the dining room, but I cant seem to go through it.
In the playstation version you can.
Answer:
You CAN go through this door, its just that you have to do the Cut-Scene
before that (Click On Barry, and you will get a Cut-Scene) After this
click on the door STRAIGHT away. if you move somewhere else, you will
have to re-do it.
Question:
Wheres the Main intro?
Answer:
The UNCUT version of the Intro is 50MB (about). This is to large really
for downloading. However, if enough people want it, we will put
together the Intro with sound and it should be around 5-10MB.
Question:
Why doesn't the Zombie follow me/try to kill me when I approach it?
Answer:
This feature isn't supported in the Test version. In the next version
it may be incorperated.
Question:
On The Playstation/PC/Saturn versions of the game, if I go to an
object and press a button, it willgive me a discription of it. How
can I do it in this Amiga Version?
Answer:
This feature isn't supported in the Test version. In the next version
it may be incorperated. However, we may release a Quick update patch
that will just add these features to the Test Release.
Question:
In the Zombie Hallway, there are doors but when I click on them,
nothing happens. Whats wrong?
Answer:
This feature isn't supported in the Test version. In the next version
it may be incorperated. However, we may release a Quick update patch
that will just add these features to the Test Release. Also, on the
commercial versions, at this point of the game, these doors are locked
anyway untill later on. So your not missing out on much!
Question:
When will the Next Release on Amiga Resident Evil be out?
Answer:
Expect to see an update patch to update a few things, such as
descriptions. It should be out within a few weeks. This will come
bundled "as" version 1.1. However, it won't contain all the graphics
and sounds. Just the updates. Expect to see V1.2 Of Amiga Resident Evil
out within a month (if I get a lot of E-mail replys requesting I continue
with it!)
