WARPedBMP Version 1.2, Warp Functions
WARPedBMP when run on a system that is using the OS/2 Warp Operating System
has the following addition functions and capability.
Additional Capabilities:
-----------------------
1. Change WPS Background directly from WARPedBMP at any time, not just at
system startup.
2. Change the WPS Background automaticly at selected time intervals while
the system is running.
3. Set the type of WPS Background display for each individual BitMap to
any of the three standard OS/2 image modes: normal, tiled, or scaled from
1 X 1 to 20 X 20.
Function Discription:
--------------------
These selections will be displayed if WARPedBMP is being run on an
OS/2 Warp system.
1. Toolbar Selection:
Mode
----
a. StartUp: This selection can be set to either NORMAL or WARPED.
-------
WARPed: This will set the WARPed Function to -enabled-, this will
------ cause the WPS background to be changed immediately when
WARPedBMP is started in the CHANGE mode and will allow the
WPS BackGround to changed from the WARPedBMP ToolBar Change
menu at any time, this BackGround change will take effect
immediately not just at the next reboot of the system.
This setting will also display the BackGround BitMap using
the specific, normal, tiled, or scaled image mode that was
selected for that BitMap.
Normal: This will set the WARPed function to -disabled- and the bitmap
------ change and processing functions will operate in the same
manner as if OS/2 Warp is not installed, all processing of
BitMaps will be as described in the Manual.Txt file for a
standard OS/2 operating system. The WPS background will be
changed only at system startup, and the WPS BackGround setting
in the DeskTop Settings Folder must be set to WARPBMP.BMP for
WARPedBMP to function. This setting will also allow the
Lockup display to use the WARPBMP.BMP to display a different
picture from the same file as discribed in the Manual.Txt file.
This selection will also turn off the Timed Setting if it has
been selected.
b. Timed: This selection will bring up the Timed Function Menu, in the
----- Timed Mode, the WPS BackGround BitMap will be automaticly changed
at the interval selected from this menu (WARPedBMP must be running
either in the foreground or minimized for this timed change).
The WARPed Function will be set to -enabled-, the WPS BackGround
change by time interval can only be done when WARPed is set
to -enabled-. If timed is selected this will also automaticly
set the StartUp selection to WARPed as in a. above.
2. WARPed Enabled: This status will be shown in green when it is enabled
-------------- and in red when it has been disabled. If OS/2 Warp
is not installed this status will not be shown.
3. Timer On/Off: This push button will be shown in green as:
BMP TIMER START when the Timed mode has been selected.
When this button is pushed to start the Timer, the button
tile will change to BMP TIMER STOP displayed in red. When
BMP Time Start is selected the BitMap Change Countdown
window will be displayed, this window will show the time
remaining, in seconds, until the next WPS Background change.
When the Timed Mode has been selected/set and WARPedBMP is started automaticly
by the WARPedBMP object, that is in the System StartUp Folder, during bootup
the WPS BackGround will be changed and WARPedBMP will continue to run in
a minimized state so that it may change the WPS BitMap at the next timed
interval.
If WARPedBMP is not running in the background, but is started manually
in the normal user interface mode, and the Timed Mode has been selected/set
WARPedBMP will start with the timer turned off, in order to avoid changing
the WPS background, while you may be processing other functions with
WARPedBMP. However, when started in this manner, you may start the timer
at any time by pressing the BMP Timer Start Button. If WARPedBMP is then
minimized the time will continue to run and change the WPS BackGround at
the selected intervals.
When WARPedBMP is started at bootup, by the object in the System Startup
Folder, if WARPed is set to -disabled- or if the Normal startup mode has
been selected, or the Timed mode has not been selected, then the WPS
Background will be changed one time and then WARPedBMP will exit.
4. Set Display Mode push button:
----------------------------
This button will only be displayed if you are using WARPedBMP on an
OS/2 Warp system. This button is used to set the display mode for
each BitMap that is in the WARPedBMP archive. The image moed may be set
to Normal, Tiled, or Scaled from 1 to 20, by highliting the BitMap or
BitMaps in the WARPedBMP List window and then pressing this button.
These settings are displayed at the end of each BitMap name in the
WARPedBMP List window, as:
a. -N for normal
b. -T for tiled
c. -S,number for scaled, the number being the scaling factor
The default for a newly added BitMap is -N (Normal).
These settings will be displayed for All BitMaps even if you are
not running OS/2 Warp on the system, but they will not be used to
display the bitmaps, and can not be changed since the Set Display Mode
push button will not be displayed on non-Warp systems.
