Foresite Command Center Version .087beta.

1. What is Foresite Command Center?
Foresite Command Center is a Monitoring program designed to make the
lives of sysops much easier. It will convienently monitor your snoop pipes,
allow you to watch the callers online, the last callers, etc.
Foresite is a program which seems to be growing from everyone's ideas,
and has yet a lot more personal ideas in store for it in the future.
2. Installation/Setup
There are a few steps that must be taken to get Foresite up and working
properly and completely.
a) If you are using Binkleyterm, make sure the following line is
present in your Binkley.cfg (configuration) file:
Snoop \pipe\bbs1
"bbs1" can be changed to anything you desire... Just be sure
you use the same name in the Pipe configuration menu located in
Foresite.
b) Make sure that when Maximus is started, it has the following
option:
maxp -z\pipe\bbs1
c) Open your max.ctl file, and make sure a line similair to the one
below is present:
Path IPC E:\CHAT\
This is very important in order for the Last Callers and Users
Online boxes to work.
3. Running/Configuring Foresite
The first time you run Foresite, you will have to select the
Configuration option located on the menu bar. Here follows a
description of those settings:
a) General Information:
1) Number of Nodes - Enter the number of nodes you
are running on your system. NOTE: If you are
"skipping" nodes, be sure that this number is the same
as the HIGHEST node you are running.
2) Time between scans - This determines how often
Foresite will check to see what activity is occuring
with users online and last callers. It defaults to
20 seconds. Note that if you set this to high time, say,
10 minutes, then if a user logs on and then off again
within those ten minutes, Foresite will not see it.
b) Directories and Files:
1) Path to IPC - Enter the EXACT pathline that you
entered in the "PATH IPC" command above. *DO NOT*
include any filename, JUST the path.
2) Message Base Path - This belongs to a couple features
that have not yet been enabled but are still present.
You may leave this blank for now.
3) BBSTAT path - This will most likely be the path to your
Maximus directory.
Note: *DO NOT* enter a filename... ONLY the pathname:
I.E. E:\MAX\
4. Registration
Registering Foresite while it is in beta will be cheaper than
registering it later, and registration will be good for all betas
and the regular versions (1.x) as they arrive.
5. That's it?
No, the rest is pretty simple, though, and currently I am so
pressed for time I would rather spend that time coding then
writing silly documentation. However, if you have any questions,
see the next paragraph.
6. Support? Help?
It's available. Contact me in the OS2BBS echo, or netmail me
at 1:3618/7. I'll have a permanent internet address soon, which
I will make known. I definitely want to hear from everyone, and
I *always* respond to any mail addressed to me. I am EXTREMELY
open to suggestions for Foresite, as many will already attest to. :-)
7. Oh yeah...
If you feel I left something important out of these docs, please
let me know.
