SpeakerDES v1.2 Loudspeaker Enclosure Design, GUI, Easy to use.
DOS NOV94 SPEAKER ENCLOSURE DESIGN
FILES: sdes12
Author: Matt Gartner
Registration: $49.00
SpeakerDES allows novice and experienced loudspeaker designers to quickly
create custom loudspeaker designs. It features a graphical user interface
for ease of use and mouse control for point-and-click simplicity.
Working in a similar fashion to computerized drafting systems (CAD),
SpeakerDES allows you to decide what shape the loudspeaker cabinet is to take
as well as where the drivers (the raw speakers) should be placed in the
cabinet.
SpeakerDES provides a standard driver database of almost 500 drivers
(Registered version. Unregistered has 100 drivers) and an alternate user
driver database for your own drivers. These databases allow you to quickly
select drivers for your designs or have the computer select them based on
the current design parameters. SpeakerDES also provides a standard space
spec database and an alternate space spec database which supply you with
space measurements, such as hatchback or trunk room. These measurements
can be used as guidelines for the maximum cabinet size.
Either closed or ported loudspeakers can be designed, depending upon the
application and choice of drivers.
SpeakerDES performs a detailed frequency response analysis of the
loudspeaker, giving you a graphical display of the loudspeaker's performance.
In addition, a real-time frequency response analysis is performed during the
design process. Changes in the loudspeaker's performance are instantly
displayed.
To make interpreting the overall performance of loudspeaker designs much
simpler, an Advisor function provides a plain english interpretation of
possible problems and solutions concerning the loudspeaker's design.
A passive electronic crossover design function rounds out the loudspeaker
design process and gives you a truly custom loudspeaker.
To keep all the various design tools simple, an on-line help system is
available at the click of a button. Should the you be new to loudspeaker
design theory, there is a section of the manual devoted to basic concepts.
