Keyboard Coach needs to be configured to your specifications before running. This is a one time procedure that only takes a few minutes. Choices made now may be edited later using the LEAGUE EDITOR feature.
Begin installation now? An AUCTION LEAGUE is the "traditional" fantasy league. Players are sold at auction with the funds from the auction becoming the base for the league's prize fund A DRAFT LEAGUE may be played "just for fun" or for cash prizes. If CASH PRIZES are chosen, each team is charged an annual franchise fee which becomes the basis for the prize fund. The SALARY CAP is the amount owners can spend during the player auction. Players whose salaries are being carried over from previous years are deducted from this amount. The FRANCHISE FEE is the amount each team is charged prior to the draft. This becomes the base for the prize fund. There are no FRANCHISE, TRADE, or FREE AGENT fees in a "just for fun" draft league. The TRADE FEE is the amount each team involved in a player trade is charged, regardless of the number of players traded. The FREE AGENT FEE is the amount a team is charged to sign any unowned player after the draft or auction is over. The ROSTER MOVE FEE is the amount a team is charged to move a player from any non-starting position to the starting lineup. SALARY INCREASE determines a player's salary if he is signed to an extended contract.
EXAMPLE: if the salary increase is $5 and you sign a player whose current salary is $10 to a 3 year extension, that player's salary would become $25 (10+5+5+5). There are no player salaries and therefore no contract extensions in a draft league. There is no need for a SALARY INCREASE FEE. Use <TAB>, <SHIFT>-<TAB> or the mouse to change data fields. Use <DELETE> to reset data. Contract length determines how long a team will "own" a player before he is released as a free agent. Turn stats ON or OFF by clicking on them. Stats whose boxes are checked are considered ON. Make your choice by double clicking on it. Use mouse or up and down arrow keys to select. Use <TAB> to move to next series of choices. Keyboard Coach can be set up to pay weekly prizes based on the last weeks' statistics ONLY. This allows teams to compete for the weekly as well as season prizes. This allows teams who may no longer be in competition for the season prizes to have something to compete for and keeps interest in the league going for the entire season. Keyboard Coach can be played by from 2 to 20 teams. Please adjust the number of teams accordingly. You may use this screen to change a current teams information or to add teams but NOT TO DELETE teams.
Teams are assigned data files according to their team number, ie. TEAM5.DTX. Do not arbitrarily change a team's order after the player auction or draft. To do so will change the players the team owns.
Use the DELETE TEAM function under the League Edit menu to remove teams from your league. SEASON IN PROGRESS !
