  2. - README for InstalWiz 1.1                                            -

  5. InstallWiz is a front-end utility to build APPSETUP.INF files and build
  6. installation disks that work with the InstallWare 4.0 utility.  This
  7. program is freeware, and requires InstallWare 4.0 or greater
  8. (IWARE400.ZIP or IWARE4.ZIP) to work properly.  Since this is a Visual
  9. Basic application, you will also need to have VBRUN300.DLL properly
  10. installed.

  12. This is the first version of InstallWiz.  Because of this, there may be
  13. some problems, even though it has been through some extensive beta
  14. testing.  In addition, I have used it to build installations for all of
  15. my shareware products.  If you find a problem, or can't figure out how
  16. to do something, read the online help to see if it isn't covered there.

  20. InstallWiz Directory Layout

  22. The directory you put InstallWiz in must be configured as follows:

  24. CTL3D    DLL    from the InstallWare package
  25. COMPRESS EXE    Microsoft COMPRESS 2.0
  26. FRAG     EXE    From the registered InstallWare package (optional)
  27. INSTALL  EXE    from the InstallWare package
  28. INSTWIZ  EXE    from the InstallWiz package
  29. IW       EXE    from the InstallWare package
  30. IWIZ     HLP    from the InstallWiz package
  31. COMPRESS PIF    from the InstallWiz package
