  3. ***  VBRUN300.DLL required ***
  4.  
  5. This program requires VBRUN300.DLL (Visual Basic Runtime.)  
  6. VBRUN200.DLL and VBRUN100.DLL will not work.  The VBRUN300.DLL 
  7. file should be placed in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  8.  
  9. VBRUN300.DLL is NOT included in FLASH.EXE, the self-extracting
  10. executable containing StudyMaster Flash Cards, because including
  11. it would greatly increase the size of the file, and many users
  12. already have VBRUN300.DLL anyways.  If you don't have it (which
  13. will be obvious because the program won't load!) many BBS's 
  14. have it, or it is available from CompuServe, GEnie, AOL, etc.
  15. If you *really* can't find it, send $2 to cover S&H and the cost
  16. of the disk to the registration address given later in this
  17. file, and I will send you a copy.  Or, send $12 to get a registered
  18. copy of the latest shareware version.  Be sure to note that you 
  19. need a copy of VBRUN300.DLL, as it is not normally included on the
  20. shareware disks.

  22. ***  How to install Shareware Version ***

  24. Simple... just copy the file FLASH.EXE into its own directory and
  25. run it.  All the files will extract.  Then, install an icon into
  26. Program Manager for the file FLASHCRD.EXE and run the program!
  27. Remember, you MUST have VBRUN300.DLL (Visual Basic Runtime) to
  28. use this software.

  30. ***  Changes to this version from the September 3, 1994 version
  31. (1.00.20a) are as follows:

  33.      * New registration system accepts your registration number
  34.        and eliminates the display of the "nag dialog boxes."
  35.      * New registration address.
  36.      * The Edit Window is now resizable, highly useful on Super-
  37.        VGA monitors.
  38.      * You can now change the font in the Edit Window as well as
  39.        the Card Window.  This makes it possible to edit using fonts
  40.        containing special characters, math symbols, etc.
  41.      * The new "QuickButton" in the card window parallels the
  42.        operation of the Pop-up Menu autopositioning feature and
  43.        allows a quick scan of the deck without having to use the
  44.        right mouse button.

  48. This program requires four .VBX files, which are included.
  49. They can stay in the directory into which you install StudyMaster
  50. Flash Cards.  If you already have these .VBX files, you can
  51. delete the copies in your Flash Cards directory, but before
  52. doing so, be sure that your other copies of the .VBX files are
  53. compatible.  They should be, but you never know what versions are
  54. out there.

  60. shareware versions.  If you have an older version, be sure to
  61. delete it and replace it with the current version.

  83. Note that the help data for the shareware file is the unmodified
  84. help file from the commercial version.  The limitations of the
  85. shareware version are explained in the dialog box which displays
  86. when you run the program.

  88. The WFCHELP.FCH file must be in the same directory as the
  89. FLASHCRD.EXE file in order for on-line help to be accessible.

  92. ***  Commercial Version of StudyMaster Flash Cards  ***

  94. If you like this program, please consider ordering the full
  95. commercial version.  The commercial version is much more useful
  96. than the shareware version.  You can have much larger decks with 
  97. up to 99 categories and thousands of cards (as against 10 categories
  98. and 300 cards maximum for the shareware version), and you get 
  99. full use of the printing functions.

  101. The full version is highly useful.  The author of this program can
  102. attest to that, as he originally wrote StudyMaster Flash Cards for his 
  103. own use as a law school study aid, and has used it for many classes, 
  104. as well as studying for the bar exam, with excellent results.

  113. New changes from prior (May 26th) version:
  114.  
  115. * Up to 99 categories per deck. (shareware version allows 10 max.)
  116. * Up to 40 cards per category (shareware version allows only up to
  117.   30; see notes on shareware versions later in this file.)
  118. * Next Card command now takes you into the next category if you 
  119.   are at the end of the current category.  Previous Card command 
  120.   now takes you into the previous category if you are at the start
  121.   of the current category.  This greatly increases the usability
  122.   of the View Menu commands, and also makes it much more conven-
  123.   ient to read through the deck.
  124. * Go to Random Card command now can select random cards from 
  125.   anywhere in the deck.  A new option in the Set Up Options dialog 
  126.   box (this dialog box was formerly labeled Set Up Card Window) 
  127.   lets you choose between selecting random cards from the entire 
  128.   deck (the default) or only from within the current category.
  129. * New command in the Edit dialog box:  Select and Delete Cards
  130.   on the Card menu lets you delete multiple cards at once.
  131. * New Drag and Drop functions in the Edit dialog box allow you
  132.   to execute some common commands using a visual metaphor.
  133. * Select and Print Cards command now allows you to include your
  134.   test answers and comments in your printout, if there are any.
  135.   (this command is disabled in the Shareware version.)
  136. * Statusbar now displays total number of cards in the deck and
  137.   your current position in it, in addition to your location 
  138.   within the current category.
  139. * Some dialog boxes have been redesigned for improved usability.
  140. * The Card Window now contains a button to allow you to mark the
  141.   card, and the main window's toolbar buttons have been rearranged 
  142.   and some new commands have been added to the toolbar.
  143. * The Deck Menu command called "Set Up Card Window..." in the
  144.   prior version of the program is now called "Set Up Options...".
