  14. Have you ever been on the Internet, used a BBS or Compuserve?
  15. If so, you've probably encountered ZIP files.  If you are a
  16. Windows user, FileCompressPro is the professional and safe way
  17. to extract, compress, and manipulate these files.
  18.  
  19. FCPro brings the simplicity of Windows to the use of ZIP files
  20. without requiring PKZIP and PKUNZIP and without requiring you 
  21. to go into DOS.  It features an intuitive point-and-click,
  22. drag-and-drop interface for viewing, running, extracting, adding,
  23. deleting, and testing files in a ZIP file.

  25. FCPro is extremely easy to use!  To open a ZIP file simply double
  26. click on a ZIP file listed in the File Manager, drag and drop an
  27. archive onto the open FCPro window or minimized icon, or use the 
  28. standard File Open menu item.  The main FCPro window features a
  29. list box with the names, sizes, and date/time stamps of all files
  30. in the open archive.  This list can be scrolled and sorted on any 
  31. field.  A tool bar provides fast access to commonly used actions.
  32. All options can be saved and restored.  Extensive context sensi-
  33. tive help is always available.

  35. Double clicking on a file in the main window has the same effect
  36. as double clicking in the File Manager.  First the file is
  37. extracted from the ZIP file temporarily. If the file is exe-
  38. cutable, it is run. Otherwise, the file is opened by the appro-
  39. priate application(for example, Windows Write for *.WRI files) 
  40. based on standard Windows associations. For registered users,
  41. FCPro comes with a built in viewer that allows you to view the
  42. most popular types of word processing, spread sheet, database, 
  43. and graphics files without needing the associated application 
  44. (See FEATURES.TXT for a complete list).

  46. The Windows 3.1 Drag and Drop Interface is supported.  You can 
  47. drop archives on FCPro to open them, or drop files on FCPro to
  48. add them to the open archive.

  50. FCPro's ZIPPLUS feature allows a user to create a self-extract-
  51. ing ZIP file that can be extracted in both Windows AND DOS. A 
  52. person who gets a ZIPPLUS file can now extract that file with-
  53. out needing an UNZIP utility and can do it without going to DOS.
  54. To create a ZIPPLUS file, open a ZIP file, go to the Utilities
  55. menu and select Convert to ZIPPLUS.

  57. FCPro's Checkout feature makes it easy to quickly install
  58. files in archives.  Click on the Checkout button to extract all
  59. files to the directory you choose.  FCPro will optionally delete
  60. the Checkout files after the ZIP file is closed.

  62. FCPro requires Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups.  NO OTHER
  63. PROGRAMS ARE REQUIRED FOR BASIC OPERATIONS INVOLVING ZIP FILES.

  66. that users are encouraged, subject to restrictions described 
  67. in the License Agreement (LICENSE.TXT), to share copies of this 
  68. program with friends, associates, and bulletin boards.  Please 
  69. remember that if you use this software you are required to pay
  70. the registration fee of $59.95 for the standard edition and 
  71. $99.95 for the professional edition.
