Installation instructions:
If you have previously installed the TEAC CD-ROM driver from ver. 1.1 of
the installation disk do the following:
1) Copy the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver into C:\TEAC sub-directory.
2) Edit the device driver statement in your Config.Sys file from:
DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDA.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:230 /T - When using the TEAC adapter.
DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDA.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:220 - When using the Sound Blaster.
/D:MSCD001 is the CD-ROM drive volume name.
/P:XXX specifies the host controller port address.
/T specifies the use of the TEAC 8 bit AT adapter.
Change to:
DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDA.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:XXX /T:X
/D:MSCDOO1 is the CD-ROM volume name.
/P:XXX = is the host controller port address.
/T:X = 0 for a Sound Blaster sound card that supports the
Panasonic AT interface.
= 1 for the TEAC 8 bit AT adapter, or
= 2 for any compatible sound card that support the
Panasonic type CD-ROM interface.
** Note: Not all compatible sound cards are supported by this
version of the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver.
If you have never installed the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver from ver.
1.1 of the installation disk do the following:
1) Create the TEAC sub-directory. Refer to your DOS manual for instructions.
2) Copy the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver into C:\TEAC sub-directory.
3) Add the following statement to your Config.Sys file:
DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDA.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:XXX /T:X
/D:MSCD001 is the CD-ROM volume name
/P:XXX = is the host controller port address.
/T:X = 0 for a Sound Blaster sound card that supports the
Panasonic AT interface.
= 1 for the TEAC 8 bit AT adapter. or
= 2 for any compatible sound card that support the
Panasonic type CD-ROM interface.
** Note: Not all compatible sound cards are supported by this
version of the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver.
4) Add the following statement to your Autoexec.Bat file: ** Note: Micro
Soft CD-ROM Extention (MSCDEX.EXE) file is supplied with DOS ver 6.20 or
higher. If you are running an older version of DOS, contact Micor Soft
to obtain the MSCDEX.EXE file.
C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001 /M:15
/D:MSCD001 must match the volume name specified in your Config.Sys file.
/M:15 specifies the number of buffers to be used by the extensions files.
