  1. Installation instructions:
  2.  
  3. If you have previously installed the TEAC CD-ROM driver from ver. 1.1 of 
  4. the installation disk do the following:
  5.  
  6. 1) Copy the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver into C:\TEAC sub-directory.
  7.  
  8. 2) Edit the device driver statement in your Config.Sys file from:
  9.    
  10. DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDA.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:230 /T - When using the TEAC adapter.  
  11. DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDA.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:220    - When using the Sound Blaster.
  12.  
  13.       /D:MSCD001 is the CD-ROM drive volume name.
  14.       /P:XXX specifies the host controller port address.
  15.       /T specifies the use of the TEAC 8 bit AT adapter.

  17. Change to:
  18.  
  19. DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDA.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:XXX /T:X
  20.  
  21.       /D:MSCDOO1 is the CD-ROM volume name.
  22.       /P:XXX = is the host controller port address.
  23.       /T:X = 0 for a Sound Blaster sound card that supports the 
  24.              Panasonic AT interface.
  25.            = 1 for the TEAC 8 bit AT adapter, or
  26.            = 2 for any compatible sound card that support the
  27.               Panasonic type CD-ROM interface.  
  28.               ** Note: Not all compatible sound cards are supported by this 
  29.               version of the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver.

  31. If you have never installed the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver from ver.
  32. 1.1 of the installation disk do the following:
  33.  
  34. 1) Create the TEAC sub-directory.  Refer to your DOS manual for instructions.
  35.  
  36. 2) Copy the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver into C:\TEAC sub-directory.
  37.  
  38. 3) Add the following statement to your Config.Sys file:
  39.  
  40. DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDA.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:XXX /T:X
  41.  
  42.       /D:MSCD001 is the CD-ROM volume name
  43.       /P:XXX = is the host controller port address.
  44.       /T:X = 0 for a Sound Blaster sound card that supports the 
  45.              Panasonic AT interface.
  46.            = 1 for the TEAC 8 bit AT adapter. or
  47.            = 2 for any compatible sound card that support the
  48.              Panasonic type CD-ROM interface.  
  49.              ** Note: Not all compatible sound cards are supported by this 
  50.              version of the TEAC_CDA.SYS CD-ROM device driver.

  52. 4) Add the following statement to your Autoexec.Bat file:  ** Note: Micro 
  53.    Soft CD-ROM Extention (MSCDEX.EXE) file is supplied with DOS ver 6.20 or 
  54.    higher.  If you are running an older version of DOS, contact Micor Soft
  55.    to obtain the MSCDEX.EXE file.

  57. C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001 /M:15
  58.  
  59.       /D:MSCD001 must match the volume name specified in your Config.Sys file.
  60.       /M:15 specifies the number of buffers to be used by the extensions files.
