HEBREKA Type 1 and TrueType fonts for Windows (shareware $25)
Compressed File name HBRKA.ZIP
Latest Version 6/28/94
NOTE: the True Type version of Hebreka is virtually unreadable
at 640x480 screen resolution. This is due to a problem
with Windows, and NOT with my font. There also is a
problem with portions of letters not showing up on the
screen, again with the True Type font. This is a problem
with Windows -- not with my fonts. The fonts look
great when printed. If viewing Hebrew text on the screen
is important, install Adobe Type Manager and use the Type 1
version of the font, and use 1024x768 or higher screen
resolution. (NOTE: The HBR0 and HBR1 fonts look much
better on screen when displaying vowel/accent combinations
than Hebreka does.)
******************* Word Perfect 6.0 users **************
I have tested these fonts with Word Perfect 6.0 DOS and the
LOWER ASCII characters work well.
To install, copy the desired .PFB files into the
PSFONTS directory, or .TTF fonts into the WP60 directory.
Start Word Perfect. Select File, Print, Select, Edit, Install
fonts. Select the fonts you wish to install. When you
exit the font installer, you will be back at the File, Print,
Select, Edit menu. Select Graphic fonts. Make sure there
the new fonts are marked with an asterisk. Save your
changes. The fonts should now be available. Note, that the
character maps for Word Perfect are different than for Windows,
and I have not been able to figure out where all the upper
ASCII characters are yet. When I do I will post my findings
on my BBS.
Select the printer you wish to use the fonts for, and select
the desired fonts. Be sure to install the Graphic font (screen)
as well as the printer font.
If you have registered these fonts, THANK YOU for your support.
A text converter for use in windows is in the works. A keyboard
entry system for pointed, unaccented text, from right to left is
also in the works. I have not yet seen a good system for entering
pointed, accented Hebrew text. If you have any ideas, let me
know. There are just not enough keys on the keyboard to map
everything!

HEBREKA is copyrighted by Donald Reiher and is not free.
My policy on shareware is, if you use my shareware fonts, then please
register and pay for them. To use them and not register them is the
same as stealing.
If you wish to register HEBREKA, write to the address listed below.
After September 1, you will be able to register via Compuserve (GO SWREG).
If you are using a copy of HEBREKA
and have not registered it (you need to register one copy for
each computer it is loaded on), you are in violation of US Copyright Law.
The ONLY exception is for those who want to use the font on their
work or school machine and then on their home computer when they
come home from work. Just as long as only one person is using the
fonts at any one time, then only one registration fee is needed. I
am purposely not charging much so any student should be able to
afford to register them ($25 per copy). . . so REGISTER TODAY!
I don't expect to make any money on this but, I would like to lose
as little as possible.
Please register and help me to continue to develop these
and other high quality fonts by sending in $25 US to
register the shareware HEBREKA font to:
