ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Introducing PMxEyes V2.0 ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
PMxEyes V2.0 for OS/2 2.* release: 21.07.1994 (c) by MS-CSE
Hello to all OS/2-users,
PMxEyes, a PM Program displaying eyes glancing at your mousepointer, was
inspired by XEYES on Unix Systems, (to prove that OS/2 is of equal ability!)
and also by the eyes of a beautiful young lady named Birgit.
Enjoy and use it!
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Install and Start PMxEyes ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
PMXEYES2.ZIP includes the files
o PMxEyes.exe: the main program,
o PMxEyes.inf: this Online-Help-book.
There's no install required, just let it run.
To remember setting-parameters, it installs a file called PMXEYES.INI by
itself, (I've not put these data in the OS2.INI 'cause I dislike programs
writing their data uncontroled just for a single run in the OS2.INI-file).
The INI-file will be created in the directory from which the program is called,
so you can create different layouts for the program. The best way is to create
a program-icon pointing to the file. If your minimized-window behavior is not
set to "Minimize to Desktop" and you want to have iconized eyes, set the
minimize behavior in the Settings-Notebook page Window of the program-icon to
"Minimize to Desktop".
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Using PMxEyes ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Description of the PMxEyes-functionality.
By holding the left mouse button down the window can be moved.
A PopUp-menu can be activated by pressing the right mouse button while pointing
on the eyes. This can also be achieved by pressing [ALT] and M.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.1.3. Colors and Size ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Here you can set the size and colors of the eyes, the blink frequence and the
frame style.
The settings are orderd in the following group boxes:
o Eyes - Size: Setting the size of the eyeframe and the eyepupil.
This can be achieved by moving the two sliders in the 'Eyes - Size' box.
Notify, that 0 stands for the center point of every eye and 100 for the outer
frame.
o Eyes - Colors: Setting the colors of background, frames, centers and pupils.
Colors are choosen by their red, green and blue parts which can be controlled
by the three sliders in the 'Eyes - Color' box. The current color is
displayed in the right colored box.
Click in the Pure Color Box for no paterned Colors.
o Eyes - Blinking: Switch the blinking of the Eyes on and off by clicking at
the 'Blink' checkmark.
Set the blink frequency from 1 (very often) to 511 (rarely) by moving the
slider.
o Frame Style: Choose between Full Controls, No Contols and Transparent frame
style by clicking the associated buttons.
Press the OK button to validate the settings or the CANCEL button to abort.
Just play around a bit.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.2. Menu-Functions ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Description of the PMxEyes popup- and systemmenu-functions.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.2.1. Frame Style ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Here you can choose different frame styles:
o With Controls: PMxEyes-Window with titlebar, closebox, systemmenu, minimize
and maximize buttons and the sizeborder.
o No Controls: PMxEyes-Window with no controls except the sizeborder.
o Transparent: only the Eyes are visible. Its cute to lay the eyes over a
bitmap of a face, so the face is looking at you!
You can change the Frame Style by clicking the left mousebutton twice over the
eyes or by pressing
o [ALT] and W for 'With Controls' Style,
o [ALT] and N for 'No Controls' Style,
o [ALT] and T for 'Transparent' Style.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.2.2. Save Settings ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Save the current parameters (window position and size, eye parameters).
This can be achieved by pressing [ALT] and V.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.2.3. Minimized ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Here you can minimize the Eyes to an Icon.
To make this possible, you have to set the minimizing behavior in the System
Notebook page Window in the folder "System Configuration" to "Minimize to
Desktop" or to make an own program symbol on the Desktop (draged from the
teplates-folder) and set the Window-behavior there to "Minimize to Desktop".
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.2.4. Exit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Quit to OS/2.
[ALT] and X also works.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Copyright and Infos about PMxEyes ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.2. About OS/2 programing ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The eyes move simply by the great OS/2 multitasking, there are no synchro or
priority procedures needed.
Enjoy and use it!
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3. Changes since V1.0 ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
PMxEyes V1.0 was released on 25.01.1994.
Changes:
o system menu instead of pull down menu,
o transparent mode, pure eyes without a frame window,
o minimize to an icon with moving eyes,
o pure color - checkbox, blinking and frame style selection in the "Colors and
Size" dialogbox,
o blinking of the eyes if the mouse has not moved for a while (can be turned
off),
o less bugs...
