  1. PRESENTATION MANAGER PROCESS STATUS (PMps) v1.10   (09 Jun 94)

  3. PMps is a shareware utility program for OS/2 2.0 and 2.1.  It displays
  4. a graphical view of running processes and allows you to get detailed
  5. information about processes or kill them.
  6.  
  7. PMps uses both mouse buttons, see online help for more information.
  8.  
  9. PMps is shareware, see 'Registration Information' in the online help
  10. for details.
  11.  
  12. Two command line utilities are provided: ps.exe and kill.exe. ps gives
  13. a Un*x like process status output, and kill allows a process to be
  14. killed given its id (in decimal or hex).
  15.  
  16. If you wish to uninstall PMps, run uninst.cmd. This removes PMdiff
  17. information from the OS/2 ini files.
  18.  
  19. You may like to try PMdiff, a graphical file comparison program by the
  20. same authors. It is available at the usual ftp sites (ftp.cdrom.com)
  21. and from the authors.

  23. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  25. Unzip the file pmps.zip using Info-ZIP's unzip (version 5.0 or later).
  26. Presumably, you have already done this, since you are reading this
  27. file ;-)

  29. Copy pmps.hlp to a directory in your help path. If you are unsure
  30. where to put pmps.hlp, copy it to x:\os2\help, where 'x' is the drive
  31. letter where OS/2 is installed.

  33. Copy pmps.exe to somewhere convenient.

  35. If you wish to create a Workplace Shell object for PMps, drag a
  36. program object from the 'Templates' folder, and type the path and file
  37. name for the pmps.exe executable.

  39. KNOWN PROBLEMS
  40.  
  41. If you close PMps or shutdown your system when PMps is minimized or
  42. hidden, PMps will not be visible when it is next started. To correct
  43. this, choose PMps from the WPS window list and select 'Cascade' from
  44. the pop-up menu.
