  24. 2. FleetStreet requirements
  25. ============================
  26. Hardware: PC, running under OS/2 (386DX, 6 MB)
  27.           about 600KB disk space plus message base
  28.           VGA

  30. Software: OS/2 2.x (2.0 not testet, but should work)
  31.           Squish MSGAPI32.DLL, version 1.10

  33. Tested software enviromnents:
  34.           OS/2 2.1 (various languages)
  35.           OS/2 2.11 (2.1 with Service Pack)
  36.           TCP/IP 1.2.1 with NFS (accessing the message base via NFS)
  37.           MSGAPI32.DLL of Squish 1.10
  38.           [Looking for additions, espc. LAN Server etc.]

  40. 3. Upgrading from an earlier beta version
  41. =========================================

  43. a) Unpack the archive to the directory where the previous version
  44.    is installed.
  45. b) Run INSTALL.CMD to install the new language files.
  46. c) Run FleetStreet. Settings of the previous version are retained
  47.    (see WHATSNEW for deviations).

  49. 4. New install
  50. ==============
  51.  
  52. a) Unpack in its own directory.
  53. b) run INSTALL.CMD.
  54. c) select language version.
  55. d) Create WPS-Objects. The folder contains a program object for FleetStreet
  56.    and shadow objects for the text files.
  57. e) start FleetStreet (FLTSTRT.EXE). The setup notebook and the online help
  58.    will open up automagically.
  59. f) Enter at least one user name.
  60. g) Change to the "Squish" page.
  61. h) read in Squish.Cfg. Adresses and origin line will be read from Squish.Cfg.
  62.    Check on the "addresses" page.
  63. i) Adjust rest of setup according to your needs.
  64. j) To be sure save options after modification.

  69. There's a Fido echo FLEETBETA at 2:2490/2520. Please write a netmail to
  70. Harry Herrmannsdoerfer (2:2490/2520) if you want the echo.
  71. You get a list of other nodes connected to this echo to make
  72. distribution cheaper. This echo may be routed freely, but please: inform
  73. us about connected nodes...

  93. a fee up to 3$ to cover costs may be charged.

  99. 7. Known bugs and problems
  100. ==========================

  102. When in doubt, please ask in the beta echo
  103.  
  104. - Redraw-problem in Threadliste when expanding branches. Dunno why...
  105. - FleetStreet does not run correctly on OS/2 2.99 Performance Beta. There is
  106.   a new MLE bug, which is visible when writing messages. Symptoms:
  107.    - incorrect font displayed
  108.    - no font at all
  109.    - excessive swapping until the swap partition is filled up.
  110.   This is _not_ a FleetStreet bug!
  111.   The bottom line is: Don't run FleetStreet on 2.99.

  117. I can't say much more about the following bugs (can't reproduce them):

  119. - HMSG.DLL crashes when trying to read an empty message in a *.MSG area.
  120.   Works OK for me.
