To INSTALL OUR ELECTRONIC BOOK >>> DO THE FOLLOWING:
Depending on how you got the file, you need to make a sub
directory and copy either the 'zip' file which contains
all the files necessary to read this book, or all the
files that you got on the disk in any form that you got
it. (Every distribution channel is different.)
But most likely you got it as a zip file so
1. Copy the 'Zip' file to a place on your hard drive.
2. Make a subdir e.g. MD\VERBON OR MD\EBOOK
3. Copy the zip file to this subdir. eg.
e.g. 'Copy filename.zip \Verbon'
4. Unzip it.
5. Type 'BEGIN'
The free portion of the book will be available to read.

book, called SOFTLOCK, so that we can reward
our authors sufficiently so that they will
continue to write good books for us.
ATTENTION: Please do not attempt to PRINT any portion of this book. We have had problems with it de-encrypting after a print
attempt which means you will lose your investment. So, if you want to print any part, you may print Part1 Only, and only BEFORE YOU HAVE PURCHASED the second half. D. When you have your password over the phone.
You type at the prompt c:>LOOK (THE PASSWORD)

THE REST OF THE BOOK WILL DE-CODE AND YOU CAN READ IT ALL.
BEFORE YOU CALL, REMEMBER TO TYPE 'SOFTLOCK' AT THE PROMPT
to get your SOFTLOCK ID. You need this and the Product
Number as well as your credit card to purchase the locked
portion of this book.
When you have these two pieces of info, call the 800# and
key in these two numbers and the automated process will
give you a PASSWORD that you type at the DOS PROMPT and
the book will be de-encrypted and you may read the rest.
Type 'REGPASS PASSWORD' (the Password THAT YOU JUST RECEIVED)
Then, type 'SHOWALL' the next time that you want to read the book and from then on. -- The Regbat file creates the 'SHOWALL' FILE that keeps your password inside it. This way you don't have to remember it. For safekeeping, copy the 'Showall.bat' file to another place such as a floppy or wherever you make backups of important files in case it gets erased by accident, otherwise you may have to purchase the password again.
Remember: when you go to the bookstore to buy a book, they
make you go through a similar process. In the future,
most of your reading material may be distributed this way.
If you cannot get the book this way, you may get it
USING THE CATALOG AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MENU AND JUST
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDERING WITH OR WITHOUT
A CREDIT CARD.
