  94. intallation utilities by MicroFox Company.  This document contains only
  95. a brief description of the package and its features, along with
  96. instructions for its installation.  Quite detailed documentation is
  97. included in the package, but it is in archived form, and is more easily
  98. read after installation.

  100. If you've ever wished you could compress/decompress, archive/unarchive,
  101. your files or create an installation utility for your own programs,
  102. then PUT/GET/INSTALL is the program for you...

  104. PUT/GET/INSTALL is a shareware program.  This evaluation version
  105. includes all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.
  106. You may use it for up to 30 days, without charge (see PUT.DOC, GET.DOC,
  107. or INSTALL.DOC for more details).  If you like the program, and wish to
  108. continue its use after this evaluation period, you are required to pay
  109. for the program (see REGISTER.DOC for more details).  Any fee you may
  110. have paid to others (disk vendors, dealers, etc.) to obtain this

  129. ===== Installation =====================================
  130.  
  131. The installation procedure for PUT/GET/INSTALL is quite simple.  The
  132. package includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the
  133. entire process.  You will need about 150K of available disk space
  134. on the hard drive on which you plan to install PUT/GET/INSTALL.
  135.  
  136. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  137. PUT/GET/INSTALL.
  138.

  140. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  141.  
  142. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  143.  
  144.    o  Place the PUT/GET/INSTALL distribution diskette in the
  145.       appropriate diskette drive.
  146.  
  147.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  148.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  149.       the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  150.  
  151.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  152.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  153.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  154.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  155.       the PUT/GET/INSTALL files to that directory. If you so direct it,
  156.       the installation program will install executable programs and
  157.       documentation in other directories of your choice.  It will make
  158.       no other changes; specifically, it will not modify your
  159.       autoexec.bat or config.sys files.

  162. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  163.  
  164. If you downloaded PUT/GET/INSTALL from a BBS (or received it in the form
  165. of archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  166. following steps.
  167.  
  168.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  169.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  170.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  171.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  172.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  173.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  174.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  175.       the package.
  176.  
  177.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  178.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  179.       the PUT/GET/INSTALL package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the
