  11.  AB    We report a case of pulmonary malakoplakia in a patient suffering from
  12.        AIDS secondary to a Rhodococcus equi pneumonia. The association between
  13.        these two pathologies only occurring in the immunodepressed does not
  14.        seen fortuitous. Deficiency in cellular immunity and macrophage cellular
  15.        activity as well as failure of intracellular bactericidal and
  16.        phagolysosomal function are very probably the links. The treatment of
  17.        this opportunistic germ rests on prolonged poly-antibiotic therapy or
  18.        indeed surgical excision.
