  5. I encourage you to print and keep handy the instruction manual which
  6. accompanies this package.  Your question may not occur to you until
  7. after a day or two of use.

  9. The manual contains exactly 60 lines per page and not more than 72
  10. characters per line.  This means that it will fit on US Letter (8.5" x
  11. 11.0") paper and A4 size (210mm x 297mm).  North American users will
  12. find the lines a tad short.  European users will lack a few lines per
  13. page.  Your printer will determine what margins are required to place
  14. the text correctly on the paper.  Some LaserJet and InkJet printers
  15. have an unprintable region along one of the page sides.  A 0.5" left
  16. margin may place the text 0.75" in from the paper edge.

  18. The page layout is intended for printing on both front and back of a
  19. paper sheet.  Considerable effort went into creating a layout where
  20. related material appears on facing pages.

  22. Page footers alternate left and right allowing use of mirrored margins
  23. if you desire.  I use one of the commonly available four up landscape
  24. print utilities which give four logical pages on a single paper sheet.
  25. Some word processors will facilitate double sided printing.  I use
  26. MSWord where the print preview gives a handy check of facing page
  27. layout.  A macro provides double sided printing by printing first all
  28. odd numbered pages, pausing for paper reinsertion, then printing all
  29. even numbered pages.

  31. The layout also facilitates online viewing using a wide variety of
  32. text viewers or full screen text editors.  There is room for the
  33. typical DOS editor's window borders.
