Overview
********
Door Tracker is actually something that I wrote for myself to keep
my door registrations and version numbers current. Up to that point
they were scattered on small shreds of paper, matchbook covers and
the once fine finish of my computer desk.
Traditionally, I have always had oodles of doors on my previous BBS
as well as The Mentor Connection. By fall of 94, it will surpass 75
I am sure. Organization had to be accomplished! - so tada ......
Door Tracker will not, however, prove very useful to SysOps that have
4 doors on their system.
Here is what DTxx.EXE will do for you....
1. File the door NAME
2. File the door AUTHOR
3. File the door VERSION
4. File the door VERSION DATE
5. File the door REGISTRATION number
6. File the door authors BBS NAME
7. File the door authors BBS PHONE NUMBER
8. File any COMMENTS you want to keep about the door,
i.e. its use, bugs, config oddities, unregistered
time remaining before it blows up, etc. There is
ample room provided in the program for that.

The Main Menu
*************
View / Edit Database by Door Name (auto-alpha by door name)
View / Edit Database by Door Author (auto-alpha by author)
Print Door Master List (hardcopy of doors list)
About the Program (babble)
Quit (get a sandwich)

The First Time You Load DTxx.EXE
********************************
Since you have no data in the .DAT file, you are automatically
taken to the Record Update (Edit) screen. This is quite self
explanatory; just input the data. If there is a suggested format
it will be shown here as ex -
You can hit <enter> until you get to the last line of the comments
section, or you can hit Ctrl/Enter to save the data at any point.
Pressing the ESC key will Abort this procedure before saving.
******************************************
The Main Display (Scrolling) Fields Screen
******************************************
If you chose to view by door name, this screen will auto-alphabetize
your doors by the door name. Likewise, if you chose to view by author
then the same will hold true and the doors will be listed by author.
This is handy if you need to see ALL of the doors by a single author.
Move the highlight bar up and down with your cursor keys, or if you
have enough doors to fill a page, use the Page Up/Down keys. You can
get COMPLETE information on the HIGHLIGHTED door by pressing the F1
key. This will explode a new form that shows ALL door information at
one time.
From the Main Display screen you can hit the following keys to perform
the appropriate procedures.
1. INS (Insert) Key - will allow you to ADD a new door record.
2. DEL (Delete) Key - will DELETE the HIGHLIGHTED door record.
3. F1 - Show complete door data for HIGHLIGHTED door record.
4. Enter (Enter Key) - to EDIT the HIGHLIGHTED door record.
5. Ctrl/ESC will exit to the Main Menu.

Would like to hear from you!

Please send your feedback along - call The Mentor Connection or shout
at me THOMAS BURKER through SLBBS-R conference, DOOR conference etc
carried on the Searchlight support BBS. I have other enhancements
planned for Door Tracker, such as selective printing, days until
demo keys expire, donation fields to track user donations and more.
The updated version can always be found on The Mentor Connection BBS
in the TOMTRON files section.
