  14. THE SHAREWARE CONCEPT

  16.   Shareware is licensed commercial software which the authors make available
  17.   on a try-before-you-buy basis.  Users may evaluate a Shareware product for a
  18.   period usually between 30 and 90 days, by the end of which they must either
  19.   pay for the product (known as Registration) or stop using it.

  21.   Copying of Shareware, subject to the above conditions, is not only allowed,
  22.   it is encouraged.  Pass copies on to interested friends and colleagues.
  23.   Shareware authors rely on the integrity of users to abide by the conditions
  24.   of the license, and register the product if they want to continue using it.
  25.   Many, like ARK ANGLES, also give added benefits to users who register.

  28. ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

  30.   This program is Shareware, and may be freely copied and distributed subject
  31.   to the terms described in the VENDOR.TXT file.  The program may be tried out
  32.   for up to 60 days without charge, after which time users should register it
  33.   or cease to use it.

  35.   Note that Shareware does not mean Freeware or Public Domain.  This program
  36.   is licensed software, and copying or using it without paying for it, except
  37.   as provided above, is a breach of copyright.

  40. WHY REGISTER?

  42.   As stated, the license for this product entitles you to try it out for up to
  43.   60 days.  Use of the unregistered product beyond that period is a breach of
  44.   copyright and is against the law.  But apart from the legal obligation,
  45.   there are many benefits to be gained from registering.  You will receive:

  47.    o  a copy of the latest version of the program, plus
  48.    o  a way to disable further registration reminders, plus
  49.    o  a printed manual detailing all of Desk Caddy's powerful features, plus
  50.    o  a bonus program, plus
  51.    o  12 months free support from the author, plus
  52.    o  periodic news and upgrade information, plus
  53.    o  the satisfaction of supporting value software through Shareware.

  58.   Australian registration is A$30 shipped anywhere in the country.
  59.   International registration is A$34, US$26, £17.50, Dm45, ¥2800 shipped
  60.   anywhere in the world.  Wholesale and quantity discounts are available.

  62.   Registration gives a license for use of the program by one user or on
  63.   one machine, and entitles you to all the benefits listed above.  Special
  64.   licensing arrangements are available for schools or businesses or anywhere
  65.   there are multiple machines or users at the one site.

  67.   Updates are released regularly, and unregistered copies of the latest
  68.   version are available from ARK ANGLES for just a shipping charge of $5
  69.   each, or from many good Shareware vendors.

  74. HOW TO REGISTER

  76.   Nothing is simpler.  We accept cash (of course), cheques (but may wait for
  77.   them to clear if they are large amounts), credit cards (Bankcard, Visa or
  78.   Mastercard only), bank drafts or postal/money orders.

  80.   Credit cards will always be billed in Australian dollars (A$) so you get
  81.   the latest and best exchange rate.  Cash, cheques, drafts etc can be in
  82.   Australian dollars or your local currency.  Calculate local currency prices
  83.   from any of the published International prices at the current exchange rate.

  85.   There are four easy ways to register:

  87.   1. PHONE:  Get your credit card ready, and the details of your equipment as
  88.      listed in the ORDERFRM.TXT file.  Then call (047)588100 for Australian
  89.      customers or Intl+61-47-588100 for International customers, and leave
  90.      your ordering information with the operator or answering machine.

  92.   2. FAX:  If you have a fax card on your computer, then simply edit the file
  93.      ORDERFRM.TXT with all the necessary information, otherwise print it and
  94.      fill it in manually.  Make sure all your credit card info is there, then
  95.      fax it to (047)588638 for Australian customers or Intl+61-47-588638 for
  96.      International customers.

  98.   3. POST:  Print ORDERFRM.TXT and fill it in.  Include your credit card info
  99.      or a cheque, draft or monery order, and post the lot to ARK ANGLES at

  102.   4. E-MAIL:  Insert ORDERFRM.TXT into a note, fill it in with your credit
  103.      card information, and send it to 100237.141@compuserve.com on Internet

  118.   Support is given to unregistered users during the 60 day trial period, and
  119.   to registered users for 12 months.  This includes direct access to the
  120.   author and/or distributor by post, phone, fax and e-mail, plus notification
  121.   of fixes and new releases.

  123.   Feedback about all our programs is always appreciated.  The first registered
  124.   user to suggest a new function or other improvement will, if the suggestion
  125.   is adopted, receive a free upgrade to the first version that includes that
  126.   function, in addition to any other upgrades they are entitled to.

  146.   free of significant defects in materials and workmanship, and that the
  147.   program works largely in accordance with its documentation.  This warranty
  148.   is effective for three months from date of registration, and is not
  149.   transferrable.

  151.   No liability is accepted for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused by
  152.   the use of this product.  No warranty is made that it is suitable for any
  153.   particular person or purpose.  If this product is useful to you then please
  154.   register it, otherwise don't use it and don't pay for it.

  156.   In any event, the liability of ARK ANGLES is restricted to either a refund
  157.   of the registration paid, a replacement of the physical disks and/or printed
  158.   matter, or the provision of an upgrade to the latest version.
