CRISS CROSS v0.5 (Beta Test)
Programming++ BBS
(619)631-8135
First of all, Thank You for checking out this game!
You will need to read the SWITCHES.DOC file and edit the CCROSS.CFG file
and the CCROSS.BAT file in order to run this game.
Let me assure you that if you don't follow the directions in the switches
documentation, the game will not run.
NOTE TO DOORMAN USERS: The game will display on your terminal, but
may not display to the user, the user will think the BBS locked up.
if you get Criss Cross working on DOORMAN, let me know how, please.
Criss Cross was written to be installed and forgotten about, any games
that are not played after 7 days or games that are complete will be
deleted after 7 days. There should be no maintenance required by the
SysOp, except this beta test version. The file LOG.TXT is created to
report bugs, you may delete this file after viewing, unless you are
beta testing. Or put the line DEL LOG.TXT in CCROSS.BAT file.
I plan to make the configuration to allow the user to choose from multiple
tile sets. This option will be for both the registered and unregistered
configuration, look for this update soon. If your bored, and have time
to create a new set of tiles, I'd appreciate a copy. The tiles must
remain the same size (width, height) and keep them "below" 200 bytes.
***** All proceeds from registration will not go to the author. ******
Read REGISTER.TXT
If you don't plan on registering Criss Cross, but want to keep it on your
BBS, No Problem. All you will see is the word UNREGISTERED and not be
able to configure the program.
I can make no guarantees Criss Cross will work on your system. The only
guarantee I can make, is that Criss Cross will take up disk space. If
the program does not work on your BBS, let me know, I may already know
how to fix the problem for your BBS software.
Criss Cross performs a self check on the CRC value to help protect against
viruses and hackers. Many modem transfer protocals pad files with extra
bytes to get an even block during transfer. To keep file integrity, the
CCROSS.EXE file should always be sent in an archived (ZIP,ARC,ZOO) format.
