  46. Please complete all information on the reverse side of this page and mail 
  47. this document, along with a check or money order for dues, to:

  65. Dues for Associate Members is a flat fee of $150 for twelve months.  Dues are 
  66. payable by check or money order, and must accompany the membership 
  67. application. This dues payment is not deductible as a charitable contribution.  
  68. However, for most members this fee is deductible as a business expense.  
  69. Twenty percent of member dues will be used for lobbying expenses on behalf of 
  70. the members.  Membership is for a one-year period.  Membership is not 
  71. transferrable or refundable.

  74. Participation in Association Professional Groups and Programs
  75.  
  76. AOP will operate and support professional groups and committees that work 
  77. cooperatively to the betterment of the industry.  Members are invited and 
  78. encouraged to participate in these programs.  They include, but are not 
  79. limited to:
  80.  
  81. -- A Public Policy Group to coordinate legislative and regulatory responses 
  82.    at the International, Federal and State levels in support of member 
  83.    interests.
  84. -- A SysOp Certification Committee that will design a training course and 
  85.    test to become an AOP Certified System Operator.  This designation is a 
  86.    hallmark of professional achievement, and oversight of this process is one 
  87.    of the most important contributions a member can make.
  88. -- An Industry Marketing Group to develop and implement joint marketing 
  89.    programs to members and consumers.
  90. -- An Associate Section Board of Governors that will direct the activities of 
  91.    the Associate membership section, setting priorities and guiding the 
  92.    section staff in providing services to associate members.  Board members 
  93.    are elected for a one-year term.
  94. -- An Industry Awards Committee that will establish categories, define 
  95.    criteria, select judges and make awards for achievements in online 
  96.    communication.
  97. -- The Standards Committee will establish a Code of Professional Standards 
  98.    for member system operators.  In cases where violation of this code is 
  99.    alleged, members of this committee will serve to evaluate cases and 
  100.    recommend appropriate actions.
