IMPORTANT: If you have registered your copy of DSCOPY, your
serial number is on the shipping label of the package that
DSCOPY was mailed to you in. You will need to enter it when
you first start DSCOPY.
REGISTRATION:
If you use DSCOPY productively, you must register your copy
and pay the license fee. The benefits of registering are:
1. You receive free support from Spitfire Software for both
application questions and problem resolution.
2. You receive a hard copy version of the DSCOPY User's
Guide.
3. You receive the OS/2 command line version of DSCOPY
which may be used in command files and Rexx programs.
4. You receive the Spitfire Software Newsletter
periodically which contains the latest information on
DSCOPY and other Spitfire Software products including
helpful hints, future enhancements, and update
information.
5. Discounts on future releases of the program.
To register, simply print out the registration instructions
when DSCOPY asks for your registration number. You may either
mail in the form with a check for the license fee to Spitfire
Software or call the listed phone number and order by credit
card. In return you will receive the most current version of
the system, your registration number, and future mailings of
the Newsletter. Non USA residents must use a credit card or
send US funds, a check drawn on a USA bank, or an
international money order.
HARDWARE\SOFTWARE REQUIRED:
DSCOPY runs under IBM OS/2 2.x. The hardware required is:
1. Any PC or PS/2 compatible computer.
2. A fixed disk with at least 300KB of available space.
INSTALLATION:
If you have received DSCOPY on a diskette or CD-ROM, skip to
install-part 2. If you have down loaded DSCOPY from a BBS you
must first do the following:
1. When you have received DSCOPY electronically, it is
packed into one or more files using PKZIP(r) by
Pkware, Inc. You must obtain a copy of PKUNZIP.EXE to
unpack the file. Most BBS's disk have copies of PKUNZIP
available for down loading.
2. To unpack DSCOPY into the directory to which you down
loaded it, make that directory the default directory.
At the OS/2 command prompt enter the command:
PKUNZIP DSCOPY.ZIP
Installation, part 2:
1. If installing from diskette, place the distribution
diskette in your diskette drive.
2. At the OS/2 prompt enter: "D:\PATH\INSTALL" where D
is the drive letter of the diskette or fixed drive you
are installing from and, if installing from a fixed
disk, PATH is the path to the directory containing the
DSCOPY distribution files. For example to install from
diskette drive A, you would enter:
A:\INSTALL
To install from the directory DOWNLOAD on fixed disk
drive C, you would enter:
C:\DOWNLOAD\INSTALL
3. Answer the questions asked by the install program. Help
is provided for for each question or option.
STARTING DSCOPY:
To start DSCOPY, click on the DSCOPY icon on your desk top.
HELP:
DSCOPY provides extensive context sensitive help and a
complete on-line user's guide. The standard OS/2 help
facilities are used to display the help text and guide.
