Date Stamp Copy - Copyright (c) Spitfire Software
Date Stamp Copy (DSCOPY) is a file utility that is
used to synchronize the contents of two directory
structures. It compares the date and time of the
selected files in two directories and copies the
newer version of a file to the directory with the
older version. It is very useful for quickly and easily
synchronizing the files on an office or home
computer with the laptop carried when traveling or
to synchronize software development systems to
insure all files are current. With the options provide
DSCOPY is powerful and flexible and will become
your primary copy program replacing both OS/2's
COPY and XCOPY functions.
DSCOPY has facilities to:
1. Enable you to specify files to be copied using the
wild care characters "?" and "*",
2. Include files in subdirectories off the parent
directories,
3. Specify a list of files and subdirectories not to be
included in the copy operation,
4. Copy files that are in one directory structure but
missing from the other directory structure,
5. Automatically create subdirectories required to
synchronize the two directory structures,
6. Copy an entire directory structure to another one
creating parent and subdirectories as required,
7. Limit copying to only one direction,
8. Copy over older files only if the Archive Attribute
is NOT set indicating that the file has not been
modified since last backed up,
9. Save for later reuse the parameters of an
unlimited number of copy operations,
10. Define the default parameters to be used when
DSCOPY is first invoked.
