  3.      To  get  the best voice quality with the Internal  Voice/faxmodem,  in
  4.  
  5. Bitfax go to SETUP, then VOICE and set Baud Rate to 38,400 and Bit Sampling
  6.  
  7. to 3. The defaults are 19,200, 2 bits for externals (which cannot support 3
  8.  
  9. bits through the serial port). This will use about 1/3 more disk space per
  10.  
  11. message.  Also the Windows comport driver cannot handle over 19,200. If  you
  12.  
  13. are using Windows, get a new driver like Turbocom.
  14.  
  15.      If  messages get cut in the middle, increase the Silence Threshold  in
  16.  
  17. voice  setup.  Make sure cable are screwed in, modem  screwed  down  mother
  18.  
  19. board grounded etc, to avoid static noises in recordings.
  20.  
  21.       Unfortunately  because  of the limitations of a serial port  and  the
  22.  
  23. Voice/faxmodem,  you cannot set the paramters to get the best quality  with
  24.  
  25. the external Voice/faxmodem and it may sound a bit scratchy.
