  2.  Use of PcAnywhere, CloseUp, PkCarbon Copy etc. with V series Modems
  3.

  5.      In  the  modem  setup where you have a choice of  modems.  Pick  Hayes
  6. (smartmodem) 2400 or Hayes 2400 compatible. Set your speed (19,200 is best)
  7. and  RTS/CTS flow control. You do NOT want the software to  follow  connect
  8. speed,  but be at locked at the DTE (modem-computer) speed that you set  in
  9. the  software.  If  you  are  calling non  'V'  modems,  and  have  trouble
  10. connecting,  then  try putting &Q6 in additional  inititialization  string.
  11. (AT&Q6 followed by the software's carraige return character(s), some use  \
  12. some  use ^M  some may use something else). If you can't use RTS/CTS  flow,
  13. you  probably  want XON/XOFF which is &K4 or &K5 (see the  manual  for  the
  14. difference). If you use XON/XOFF then set true modem speed & use &Q0.
  15.  
  16.      Hayes  V  series modems have some proprietary commands (non  -  CCITT)
  17. which will cause an error used with a Zoom V series modem.
  18.  
  19.      It  is  recommended that you use a non-existent COMport (3 or  4),  or
  20. REMOVE serial 2 rather than just disabling serial 2.     One other hint may
  21. be felpful, if you have trouble at 14,400bps. Put this string in User...
  22.  
  23. ATS37=9N0  (w/carraige return) which tells the modem to conect at 9600.

  25. TURBO  modem  users - add  S36=7 to the INIT string (or  addititional  init
  26. string).

  28. >>>  If an older 2400 modem works, but the V-series modem does not, you may
  29. need to change the serial cable. It must support Hardware flow control.
