  3.      Using  the password in the UK modem, I found several things. A)  don't
  4.  
  5. forget to use at LEAST 6 chars or you'll get ERROR when trying to enter the
  6.  
  7. password. B) Dip 9 must be UP ^. C) the modem will not answer even with dip
  8.  
  9. 1 UP ^, unless you have initialized with AT&F as well (the AA light will be
  10.  
  11. off until the INIT).  D) If dip 9 is DOWN v, you can still enter  passwords
  12.  
  13. and list them, but the modem will not ask for the password when you call.
  14.  
  15.      I suggest you add &C1&D2 to the AT&F init string.
