  2.      A  LEASED  LINE normally is just an open line with NO  DIALTONE  &  no
  3. RING,  connected at all times. A modem will not AutoAnswer if there  is  no
  4. RING  into  the  modem.  There is a cheap  part,  which  with  a  momentary
  5. pushbutton  & 5vdc input, will output a 5 watt RING, so should work with  a
  6. normal leased line.

  10.      You  just  push the button at the same time you dial  with  the  local
  11. modem, and the modem on the other end will AutoAnswer (ATS0=1&W). You  dial
  12. with  ATX1D because there is NO DIALTONE and X1 tells the modem  to  ignore
  13. dialtone.
