  3.      If  you are having trouble connecting at the highest speed, it may  be

  5. line noise. you can try using the AT%E command to monitor line quality  and

  7. train/retrain  the  modem. (not all modems support all %E command.  If  you
  8.  
  9. type them in and get don't get ERROR then it is supported).
  10.  
  11. E0  - no retraining (default)
  12. %E1  - retrains when connecting
  13. %E2  - retrains fallback/forward online (if supported by other modem).
  14. %E3  - you can try this too. (Undefined in Rockwell specs).
